Everyone in the Gladstone household had woken up and we were currently in front of the Christmas tree unwrapping gifts, everything time Lyra opened hers her eyes would light up and it made me smile.
She'd unwrapped everything except the last two, they were both from me, one was the photo album and the second one was a ring with her birthstone as the centre piece.
She opened the photo album first and smiled at all of the photos, when she got half way through the page was marked 'memories to come..' she smiled and I looked to her parents to see her mum had the camera ready.
She opened the ring and gasped "Sirius!" I smiled at her "Lyra, you have done nothing but made my miserable life worth living, you've made it less miserable in fact, would you do me the honour of being my girlfriend?" She threw her arms around me and we hit the floor.
"I'll take that as a yes?" She nodded and softly pressed her lips to my own "you don't know how long I've waited to kiss you" she blushed and a flash went off in the background.
We sat up and I took the photo from her mum before slipping it onto the page with a smile "first memory made" she grinned and hid her blush.
I slipped the ring onto her finger "it's beautiful" I nodded and my hand instinctively went up to my neck, the cool metal of the necklace she bought rested against my chest, it was a wolf howling at the moon.
"Right breakfast and then you two have a few hours to do whatever until we start the party" Lyra grinned and we got up going into the kitchen.
Our hands found each other's as we sat down and her parents smiled at us both "I would formally like to invite Sirius over for any holiday that is left at hogwarts" I smiled at Lyra's mum.
"Oh you don't have to do that" Caius smiled "we would love to have you around Sirius, maybe Lyra could go with you to collect some things from home"
I nodded slowly but inside I was internally scolding myself, I couldn't take Lyra into that hell hole.
Once breakfast was done we ran upstairs and dived on Lyra's new bed, it was a large bed with a canopy over the headboard.
She stood up her nightdress swinging before she grabbed a pillow and started attacking me with it, I laughed and whacked her back with a pillow.
