Chapter 43: Lost but found

Kiefer's POV

My heart palpitates, and an unknown fear is arising within my system suddenly. I absentmindedly roamed my eyes around and looked for a particular person, but I was disappointed. I didn't saw any glimpse of her. Now, it doubles. My fear doubles and I'm having a hunch that something happened.

"Are you alright, Kiefer?" That question pulled me back from my deep thought.

I just blankly stared at her and didn't bother to answer. "I have to go somewhere. I'll be back." I said and left her.

I roamed my eyes again, but I still don't see her. So I decided to check every corner of the room but still no signs of her. And my fear has quadrupled, or in other words, my fear is all over my system.

"Where art thou?" Mahina kong bigkas at mabigat na bumuntong hininga.

This no use. I better tell the others. I fetched my walkie talkie and turned it on.

"Guys, Kia is missing." Giit ko at nakarinig ako ng samu't saring komento mula sa kanila.

"Let's meet in the backstage." Huli kong sinabi at pinatay ito.

Naglakad ako papalapit sa backstage ng may mahagilap ko sa isang mesa ang isang babae na abot langit ang ngiti at hindi ko mawari kung bakit ako nakaramdam ng kaba. Kung siya man ang may pakana, sambahin man ako ng lahat hindi ko siya papalampasin.

Tumuloy na ako sa aking pupuntahan at napabuntong hininga naman ulit ako. Pagdating ko doon ay kompleto na sila maliban sa akin at si Kia na nawawala.

"What are you talking about that Kia is missing?" Takang tanong ni Maurice.

"How did you even know that she is missing?" Gatung naman ni Ken.

"Maybe she is just somewhere out there wandering." Anas ni Cassidy.

"How sure are you Kiefer?" Pagdudududa ni Zach.

"She is missing, and that's all I know." I lied because I am aware that she is missing. We won't be twins if we can't feel that something happen to one another.

"What?! Maybe it is just your conclusion." Giit ni Cassidy at umirap.

"If you guys don't believe it then its fine." Sabi ko at iniwan sila. Naramdaman ko namang sumunod sila Jacob at mukhang sumunod rin ang aming dakilang pinsan na si Narissa.

I stopped in the corner and slightly faced them. I looked at them and fear and concern is all over their faces, I mean even mine. I looked away and squinted my eyes at someone.

"What's the plan?" Panimula ni Jacob.

"The usual," Sagot ko at kuha na nila kung anong ibig sabihin.

"What do you mean "The usual"?" Tanong ni Narissa but I only gave her a knowing look na nakuha niya naman agad.

"Dominique, go to the CCTV room and find something suspicious." Utos ko sa kanya na sinunod niya naman agad.

"Jacob and Hailey start finding ways to locate her." Giit ko na ginawaran nila ng isang tango at umalis.

"Tricia you keep on eye on everyone." Sabi ko na sinang-ayonan naman niya.

"How about me?" Nabaling naman ang atensyon ko sa aming pinsan.

"Just make sure to maintain the ambiance of the event and kindly handle your friends." Giit ko at iniwan sila.

Lumabas ako ng silid at nagtungo sa dala naming kotse. Sumakay ako at nilabas ang aking telepono. Tinipa ko ang isang numero na paniguradong makakatulong sa akin, sa amin.
