Song of the Heart (ROTG fanfic)

Chapter 2

"I swear Anastasia , our daughter's puns are more annoying than yours."

I hear dad grumble as he had an arm around mom while making a vortex for us to go in towards Xavier's lair.

"What can I say?" , I started making mama giggle as papa glared playfully at me , as if daring me to finish my sentence , "I'm a pretty pun-ny girl."

"Do you want to see Blackwood or not , Linnea?"

"Hey what are we even waiting for here , let's go!" , I said quickly as I hopped in the black sand vortex of my papa and landed on the ground easily , inside Xavier's lair.

"You're lucky it's your birthday today , Lin."

I hear dad say behind me as he helped mom on her feet as I just rolled my emerald , golden eyes and glanced at him with a smirk , "But you always deal with my puns everyday , papa."

"Unfortunately." , he grumbled making mom laugh and dad roll his golden eyes , "Come on. I'm sure Xavier has already sensed our visit."

"I already did."

I whip my head towards the source of the voice making my waist length  black hair slightly slap my face.

"Vivi!"

I spluttered as I was removing the strands of hair off my mouth while running towards him and tackling him for a hug as I hear him groan and trying to shrug me off.

"Get off me! Jesus Christ!" , he exclaimed , annoyed as I just got off of him , "Jeez , can't you wait for a second before giving me a heart attack?!"

"Since when did I ever wait , Vivi?" , I retorted making him snort with a smirk as I just smirked back , "Well?"

"Touche', kid." , he replied as I noticed his black hair was already long enough to be tied back into a mini pony tail , "Happy birthday , brat."

"You remember!"

I grinned up at him as I see Chip , his pet black bird with red eyes , hop off his left shoulder and fly over to my right shoulder , nuzzling his head onto my cheek , adorably.

I also noticed Xavier was wearing black skinny jeans , and a black shirt. His ear piercings still obviously visible.

"Thanks Vivi and Chip!" , I giggled.

"Though nothing much changed about her , right Xavier?" , I hear mom tease behind me as I playfully glared up at her , seeing her and dad grinning down at me , "What?"

"Well not really." , I smiled up hopefully at Xavier only to pause , "But~"

I frowned and he started backing away as I dared him , "But what , Vivi? I dare you and I'm giving you a headstart this time." , as I fake rolling up my sleeves , hearing dad sigh and mom laugh behind me.

"Why did he even have to mention about her--"

"Don't make me come after you , papa!" , I growled making him laugh as my attention was back to Xavier whom was grinning lazily at me while slowly backing away.

"But you're really still lacking in height , kiddo. Your height kinda stopped when you were 15 years old , right?" , he teased as he started running around his large living room while I chased him , viciously.

"I am a proud 5 ft young woman!" , I exclaimed as I hear him just chuckle from the distance , completely out of my reach as he was behind mom and dad and I was slowing down until I sat in front of them , panting and slightly coughing , "P-Proud , I say!"

"And I'm a proud 6 ft man ." , Xavier mocked as he was kneeling beside me , flicking my forehead making me squeak , "Brat. But still , happy 18th birthday." , I look up at him and saw him giving me his usual lazy smile , "You're a legal adult now. Guardian and human terms."
