Jangmi's POV

I opened my eyes. My head ached as if I'd been hit. I tried to reach my head to rub it, but I couldn't.

Wha-

I opened my eyes wider. I looked down.

What...why are there...ropes?

There were ropes wrapped around my hands and legs. I struggled to break free as I kicked the chair I was sitting in.

"Pathetic."

I gasped. My eyes searched every inch in front of the room as I held my breath.

The figure stepped out of the shadows.

"Hi, Jangmi Unni."

Baru's POV

I ruffled my hair as I put away my drug prescription on the counter. My phone started ringing. It was an unknown number.

It's probably one of those stupid ads.

I ignored the call as I waited.

And waited.

The caller finally hung up, and I started to check my emails.

Suddenly, my phone was being called again. It was the same caller.

Aish...so annoying...

"For the last time, I DON'T WANT A GIFT CARD FOR FREE POTATOES!"

"Hi, Baru. I need your help."

"Who are you?"

"Jangmi's friend."

I felt anger boil up in my stomach.

"Which...friend?"

"Taehyung. But that's not the point. Listen, Jangmi's gone. She was at my house when-"

"She was at your house?"

"Yeah, it's a long story, okay? But anyway, we have no time for this! Jangmi disappeared after she started resting in her room. It's most likely she was kidnapped, because my maids told me that they hadn't seen Jangmi go anywhere, and the doors never opened ever since she moved here."

I clenched my fists, but then unclenched them, knowing that Jangmi probably had no time for my foolishness.

"Okay. I'll be there in a few minutes."

"There's no time for minutes! Jangmi's in danger!"

"Listen, we're never gonna find her if we keep doing this," I said through the phone.

I heard Taehyung sigh.

"She's in danger because of me...I can't let anything happen to her."

I scoffed.

What is he to worry about her?

"I'll do the saving. You just watch."

This caller has ended the call.

This bastard has hung up on me. After a few seconds, I got a text.

'Jangmi's not my cousin. And I'll be the one to save her.'
