It's now May twenty fifth, and I'm finally graduating high school. Out of everyone in
our group of friends, only Green and I are graduating. The rest of them are juniors, I
feel old. It feels like yesterday I was starting my first day of kindergarten and Leaf wasn't in school yet. These past few weeks have a pain in the ass. I've had to cram in
final exams and get all of my graduation papers and do community service. I didn't even
know that community service was required to graduate until Green told me and of
course mine was done at the last minute possible.

Mom was actually able to get off work to come see me graduate! She's been working
herself like crazy due to this dumb court case. Last month I found out the guy she's
trying to lock up is Silver's dad! I felt bad for hanging out with him because I thought he
wasn't happy with Mom since she's putting him in jail. Turns out, Silver hates his dad
and doesn't care what happens to him. I thought that was harsh, but Silver had a pretty
good reason as to why he hates him.

Leaf was planning this huge party for us since we're now "adults." I mean, yeah we're
both eighteen, but we have no experience with the outside world. I told her not to throw
a party. I just want to go on my journey as soon as possible, but then again, I don't want
to leave. Green isn't going on a journey. He's staying home to be an apprentice under
his Grandfather or Daisy. When I come back to visit Mom and Leaf, it will work out
since he will be right next door. I plan to come back home every other week if I can, and
Green said that he would try to visit me when I'm staying in a major city to get that
gym's badge. He's a real sweet heart. Last week, he offered me something amazing.
Since I technically don't have a Pokémon since Dad took Pikachu with him when he left,
he asked Oak if he could give me my starter! No one has ever done anything this nice for
me! After we graduate, Green is taking me straight to the lab to let me pick one out.

"RED! RED! RED! WAKE UP!" Leaf screamed in my ear. "Fuck Leaf! Why are you so
loud?!" I yelled. "You have to get ready for your graduation!" Lyra yelled. "You have to
get dressed!" Crystal said. "You invited two other people to help me get dressed?!" I said
to Leaf. "They wanted to help!" Leaf defended. "Go help Green get ready or something."
I grumpily said. "We are! You're first since you're so slow!" Leaf said. "Ughhhh, fine I'm
getting up." I said throwing the blankets off of me. "Let's get his outfit picked out!" I
heard Leaf say as I was closing the bathroom door. I rolled my eyes, I'm eighteen years
old and she still insists on picking out my clothes.

I took a shower and washed my hair. Mom is wanting pictures taken of me so she
threatened me to look my best. I dried myself off and put the towel around my waist
since there was girls in my room. "Put this on!" Leaf said as soon as I opened my
bedroom door. "I will, geez." I replied, heading towards my bed. "You're going to look
super cute with this outfit!" Crystal exclaimed. "You know that I will be wearing that robe over whatever I'm wearing." I said. "You won't be the entire time though!" Lyra
exclaimed. I rolled my eyes again. The girls picked out a basic outfit for me to wear
honestly. They gave me a pair of khaki pants and a white button up and a belt. "Now get
out so I can put this on." I said. "We will be at Green's house!" Leaf said as they walked
out of the room. Now it's Green's turn for their insanity.

"How does it feel to finally be out of high school?!" Mom asked while hugging me.
She got really excited when they said my name during graduation. She and the girls
literally screamed, they did the same even when Green was called. Gold and Silver even
watched us get our diplomas. "Great Mom." I said. "I'm so proud of you!" She said as
she hugged me even harder. "I'm going to miss you!" Leaf cried as she hugged me. "I'm
not leaving yet." I reassured. "I'll miss you being home!" She said. "We'll miss you too!"
Crystal said as she and Lyra hugged me. "I'll miss you all too." I said with a smile.

After the graduation, we all went to my house to have lunch. "Do you want to go to
Gramps' to get your Pokémon?" Green asked. "Heck yeah!" I said. "Hey Mom, I'm going
to the lab, I'll be back soon." I said as I walked out of the door. "Gramps has three for
you to choose from. He actually caught them years ago, but he's giving them to trainers
so they can be trained." Green explained. "I really appreciate all of this." I said before I
kissed him. "Anything for you." Green said with a smile.

"Green! Red! You're here!" The professor said. "Yup." Green said. "The Pokémon are
in the lab, lets go!" He exclaimed. We followed Oak to the lab to meet the small
creatures. On a table in the back of the room were three pokeballs. "The first one right
here is the grass type Pokémon, Bulbasaur." He started. Leaf had a Bulbasaur until Dad
had a meltdown and sent it away. "Second is the water type Pokémon, Squirtle! And the
last one here is the fire type Pokémon, Charmander!" Oak explained. "Woahh." I said.
"So, do you know which one you are going to choose?" He asked. I already know that I
don't want the Bulbasaur. Leaf would probably start crying if she sees it. Squirtle is a
water type and has the advantage over the other started, Charmander. But Squirtle is
blue and it reminds me of Blue. Charmander is a really cool Pokémon. It evolves into a
giant lizard looking Pokémon. I think that I'm going to pick this one. "I do know which
one that I'm picking, I want the Charmander!" I said, grabbing the pokeball and
releasing the Pokémon from the ball. "Char!" The small lizard Pokémon said. I don't
know how to explain how happy I felt when the Pokémon walked into my arms.
"Charmander is yours to keep, Red. Congratulations!" Oak said with a beaming smile.
"Thank you so much!" I thanked. "Charmander is an awesome Pokémon! I hope you
love him!" Green said. "Of course I will!" I said as I hugged him.

"We're back!" I yelled. "What Pokémon did you pick!?" Leaf yelled as she stood up
from the couch. "Omg! It's a Charmander!" She exclaimed as she ran to see it. "It's so
cute!" Lyra said. "Have you given it a nickname yet?" Crystal asked. "I actually haven't."
I said. Should I give him a nickname? What would it be? Charmy? Charmando? Frank?
Who knows. "I think that I will keep it as Charmander." I said. "Oh okay!" Crystal said.
The girls and Mom played with Charmander while Green, Gold, Silver, and I ate our
lunch. "It sucks that you two won't be going to school with us anymore. This past year
has been great." Gold said with a mouthful of food. "Yeah, I'll miss you all." I said. "You
have to tell me all about your journey! I wanna go to Johto after high school to go on my
own adventure." Gold exclaimed. "I'll be sure to tell you all about it." I said with a smile.
"Good luck man." Silver said.
