Chapter 18: Let's Try One More Time

Chapter 18

Raegyn's Perspective

"Raegyn?" Alex asked as he stared, his jaw ajar. "Yeah" I said with a sigh. "It's me..." I trailed off, my mind focusing on how stupid I was to jump to the conclusion that Alex was a jerk.

"I can't believe it's you. Listen, I know you think that I treated you like -", "Alex, I know it wasn't you. Jack told me everything, and I forgive you" I cut in. "Really?" He asked, tears brimming his eyes. "Yes" I whispered and looked at the ground, trying to hide the tears that started to fill my eyes. "Umm... I'm going to leave.... Let you guys catch up" Jack said as he stood there awkwardly. Alex and I giggled before he ducked out of the room.

Jack's Perspective

Alex and Raegyn are making me so angry. I love Alex like my own brother, but I had no idea Raegyn was so perfect and I had no idea she belongs with me.

I couldn't stay and watch Alex and Raegyn, I had to leave. Now.

I grabbed the keys to my car and walked out the front door. Right as I opened the door to my car, I saw Zach and Rian pull in. "Aye Jack" Zach said as he walked past my open window. I smiled at him. "Hey bro" Rian said and walked past me following Zach into the tour bus.

I started my car and backed out of the parking lot. Once I was on the open road I turned up the radio and 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd was playing. After about 45 minutes of driving I was at one of my favorite beaches and I was ready to relax and take my mind off of things.

Zach's Perspective

Rian and I had decided to go see a movie, we ended up seeing 'Anchorman 2'. It was pretty funny.... But weird. We came back in time to see Jack heading off somewhere looking kinda mad. Jack's normally a really cheer filled person so that was off. He's probably just feeling bad about what he did to Alex's girl.

We said hey and walked inside to have a beer and watch a movie. We opened the door and were taken by surprise when we saw Alex sitting on the couch with some redhead in his lap laughing.

"Hey man" Rian said, obviously interrupting their moment. "Rian! Zach! You're back, there's someone I'd like you to meet" Alex said and gestured to the girl. She stood up and walked over to us. "Hi, I'm Raegyn" she said, "... But you can call me Rae" she shook my hand and when she turned to Rian I looked over her remarkably short shoulder and gave Alex the eyebrow raised look.

Alex stood up and walked over towards Rae and snaked his arms around her waist. Rian gave me the look that confirmed that he didn't wanna bring up Jack's mistake right now either. We could talk to Alex about it later.

"Rian and I were going to watch a movie - either of you guys interested?" I asked watching them sway back and forth in each others arms. "Nah, I got something planned for us, but thanks for offering man" Alex said. "Okay" Rian and I said in unison and left the happy couple alone.

Alex's Perspective

It was surprising to me how fast Raegyn forgave me, but it was relieving to say the least. I really care about her, and I'll do everything in my power to protect her - from everything.

After Zach and Rian got the chance to meet her I knew they were thinking how we ended up together, I could tell them later though. I noticed the way Jack was looking at my girl, and it made me nervous. Whatever though, she clearly likes me and not him.

Today I wanted to take Raegyn to where I intended to the first day I met her. I didn't want to tell her and spoil the surprise though, so I brought Raegyn to my car and asked her to wait because I forgot something in the tour bus. When I looked back to make sure she would stay in the car I caught her dancing to something on the radio. God she's just so cute.

Once I was inside the tour bus I whipped out my phone and called the florist to deliver the most beautiful bouquet she had to the coffee shop. Once that was settled I hung up and grabbed my coat and walked back out to the car. When I hopped in Raegyn gave me an excited smile. "Where are we going?" She asked. "You'll see" I said, trying me best not to give anything away.

It was a quick drive and it went by fast, every moment I spent with Raegyn seemed to pass in the blink of an eye, and I'm enjoying every second of it.

We pulled up to the cute little cafe and I escorted Raegyn inside. I brought her to the table I was seated at the first time, and when we sat down a barista handed a gorgeous bouquet of roses to Raegyn and I got to watch her face light up. Clearly she's never been with someone who has treated her right, but that's going to change for her.

"I can't believe you got me these..." She buried her nose into the roses and took a big smell. "I just want you to know that I care about you... A lot" I whispered the last part. She smiled at me and I held her hand in mine. Our fingers intertwined and I knew we were meant to be.

The barista came back to take our order. I got a cappuccino and Raegyn got a vanilla latte. We sat and drank coffee and talked for hours. The only thing I had on my mind was how happy I was to have a girl as special as Raegyn with me. I think that she's the one.

And if she is, I'm never letting her go.
