A/N: This is kind of an overview of the week from Luke's POV
-
Over the last ten days, Ashton didn't hold a knife to my throat again. In fact, things went fairly smoothly most days. When Ashton wasn't insistent I do anything, I just locked myself in the room I guess was now mine.
He did hit me though, several times. But I had deserved it every time. Either I hadn't done something the way he wanted it or I hadn't done something at all. Ashton wasn't doing anything wrong - I just had to test how far I could push things. There was one time he very nearly pushed me down the stairs, I honestly can't remember why. Maybe there wasn't a reason.
On one occasion, Ashton locked me in the bedroom for two days. It was the night after he'd almost pushed me down the stairs - he'd been in a pretty bad mood that day. But he did let me have a drink for the time I was locked in, so it wasn't all bad. He did care... Just something had happened to put him on edge... I thought, anyway.
Right now, I don't miss home at all. I had this delusion that I was safer here with Ashton.
He didn't let me watch the news over the past week and a bit either, but he showed me a newspaper today. It was just an article saying that there was no more evidence of where I had gone, so the search had been put on hold. I found myself almost glad of that.
Nothing much else happened and things ironed out between us. We weren't even on bad terms, maybe it could even stretch to being a positive relationship. Not much more than neutral, but things had a good outlook.
I trusted Ashton.
