Hibernation

it's perpetually midnight
in my tireless brain
but the colors have stopped flowing
frozen in place
residing above the thoughts
that are frantic
my mind is in hibernation
it's endlessly silent
waiting for the sun to shine again
and awaken
the feelings that once flourished
behind my skull
the fire has been smothered
waiting for a spark
to erupt into long awaited beauty
that was once
plentiful in the oasis of my body
but has withered
my mind is in hibernation
it's silent
but my hope tells me that
I will soon awaken
to a new sun rising above me
but my body
is pleading for the end of this
I'm in hibernation
and I want to wake up again
but I can't
