Corinne's POV:-

"Yes. Thank you could you please drop this off to his office for me?" I handed the resignation to the receptionist and before my mind could turn one-eighty degrees, I rushed out of the office building.

He must be in his cabin right now. That thought alone made my heart race but I dragged my feet back to my car before I could do something that I would later regret.

I had to be at a coffee shop nearby just two blocks away to meet someone.
I was desperate to move on. And I was glad for already trying.

The small but homey looking cafe was lit up with small christmas lights and gas lamps here and there giving it an earthly glow. It smelled of freshly brewed coffee.

I found my spot in a small booth against the far wall and sat down. He would be here soon I guess.
A young very lovely looking girl came up to me.
"What can I get you madame?" Her French accent suited her.
"No thank you. I'm still waiting for someone." She nodded with a smile and left.

I fished out my phone from my coat pocket just playing candy crush when someone cleared their throat.

I looked up to see him leaning against the table smiling down at me.

"Marian!" I stood up from my place and he offered his hand for a handshake.

"Pleasure to finally meet you. As gorgeous as I've heard." He complimented. I couldn't help but blush.

What a charmer!

We sat down opposite each other.
"Let's properly introduce ourselves shall we?" I said.
He smiled.

"Mariano Di Vaio. You know the rest." He smirked.
I couldn't help but feel intimidated and impressed nonetheless.

Well built physique. Very tall. Six feet maybe. His hazel eyes were intense and smouldering. Sharp jawline. Full lips. Looks that girls would die for. He was attractive. Very attractive.

You know he is not Cameron.

I had to admit what was true. He wasn't the man I loved.
"Corinne Braylon. Nice to meet you too." I said smiling.

"It would be an honour to work with a woman as beautiful and as gifted as you. May I ask? Why did you leave your job with the Kalebs?" I had dreaded that question. I knew I would have to answer them sooner or later.
"Just because." I shrugged hoping he wouldn't pry anymore.

It was a good sign. He didn't press further on the matter.
We talked for a bit. Just random things to get to know each other. I learned he had been a student at the NYFA. Now that I remembered I had seen him once on a red-carpet event two years ago.

"So......I guess you are interested to work with me then?" He cocked his eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes laughing.

"Believe me Mariano that was the only option left." I taunted.

He chuckled softly.
"I've seen your handbags collection recently. I like it very much." I smiled.

He sure was a man with words.

"You can come for lunch tomorrow at my place then?" I asked.

He was one of the best known designers and I couldn't wait to start working with him.
"Sounds good." He gave me a loop-sided grin.

He gestured for the waiter and we ordered coffee.

With the promise that he would see me tomorrow, he walked out of the small place while I sat still contemplating on what I should do next.

It wasn't an everyday thing that I had so much free time.

I decided to drive back home, watch a few movies and just relax for a bit.
I walked back to the parking lot and unlocked my car. My eyes averted to the heaven-kissing skyscraper that was where he might be sitting right now. And I realised what a mistake I had done as the urge to just once see his face became stronger.

He didn't want to see me. Why couldn't I get that into my head?

Somehow I wanted to believe it was just his temper and not really him.

I reluctantly drove out of the lot and sped towards home.
The more I thought about it, the more painful it got. I knew it was too late because I was actually in love with the most selfish and arrogant brat on this planet. I hated him but I loved him all the same.

I just hoped working on a full-time project with Mariano would cut my mind off of him.....for some hours at least.

My phone screen flashed with a text message as I drove.

*Mariano*

I smiled to myself shaking my head before reading it out.

It was nice having spent time with you Rin.

Rin huh?

Are we on nicknames already?
I teased.
I dare you. Tell me you don't like it.

I couldn't help but laugh.

It was good. I enjoyed too. Thanks Mariano.

Anytime bellissimo.

You're such a flirt. See you tomorrow okay?

Sure. Bye.

Bye.

I payed attention back to the road and parked outside my apartment and rushed inside.

Seems like today had been a good day for me. And hopefully for him as well.

********

So what do you guys think?
Mariano is definitely something. Isn't he?

Mariano di Vaio is an Italian model, actor and designer. He has worked as an embassador for several fashion labels.

So I thought it would be nice to cast him for the role.

He's smoking hot. *wink*
