Melanie stopped crying immediately

Tyler's eyes narrowed intensely

"I felt it!" he shouted "I felt his death, I felt the pain he felt, I felt the sensation of utter betrayal deep in the marrow of my bones, Melanie!"

Melanie didn't know what to say

She was shocked, stiff

"I-I t-thought you would be proud of me! He will no longer bother you, Tyler, he will no longer torment your tormented fleet!"

"You don't understand! This is none of your business! This is between me and Blurryface! This is my fight, it was never yours!"

Melanie swallowed her dismay

"Then why did you give me the poison!"

Tyler rolled his eyes and groaned out loud

"You're so fucking stupid, Melanie! I gave you the poison, because I wanted you to think it was candy soda and drink it yourself!

He paused to laugh

"You obviously thought the red wine and the hallucinogens were nothing else but juice and candy!"

Melanie's gasp was loud and Josh's eyes stared at Tyler

"I want to get rid of you, Melanie! Just like I got rid of Jenna!"

"J-Jenna?" Melanie hiccuped "What happened to Jenna?"

"Oh," Tyler said with a calmer voice

He started laughing coldly

So cold it sent shivers down Melanie's spine

"Little Miss Jenna Black thought she had me under her thumb. She thought she was the best, like I loved her more than you. That is not true. She was going on my nerves, I'm telling you. So I simply told her she's too ugly to be with me."

Tyler shrugged. "I thought she would leave me alone. But she didn't." He pretended to sigh in sympathy. "She did plastic surgery on her whole body, but unfortunately I had already given up on her. Yesterday I went to her house to say goodbye, but her parents told me she's dead. Her body fell apart, like Mrs Potato Head."

It was deadly silent

Melanie only heard the wind and the afternoon birds tweeting

The cornfield surrounding them

Was suddenly looking higher than before

Everything was much more darker

And Melanie felt sick to her stomach

It was silent for a while

Tyler opened his mouth when some minutes had passed

"I only did it out of love, of course. My love for you is strong, Melanie. So strong I can't handle it and I can't live with you around. Jenna tried to steal me from you, so it's her own fault she's dead now. And you stole Blurryface from me, so it's your fault you're going to die"

"If you love me you would never kill me"

"How boring," Tyler jeered as he took a step forward. "If we didn't want to kill each other, what kind of relationship would that be?"

Melanie just shook her head

"You're a murderer. You're a psychopath. You can't love."

"Psychos are the ones who love the strongest. They just show it in a different way."

Tyler took yet another step towards Melanie

He shouldn't have done that

Suddenly a loud smack was heard in the dark

A muffled groan and a gasp

Tyler losing his breath, falling to the ground

Melanie standing there with a bloody fist

"Is this love to you, huh!?"

Melanie screamed

Tyler looked up at her

Wide eyes and a bloody lip

"You hit me. You fucking hit me"

Josh said something quietly all of a sudden

Both Melanie and Tyler gave him attention

Josh was looking Melanie dead in the eye

"Run. Now."

And Melanie ran

She ran for her Godforsaken life
