Melanie fought the urge to throw up
It was already too much with a wolf screaming to death
Now her own teddy bear had killed itself
She left Tyler's house
And ran and ran and ran
The world looked different
More strange and peculiar
As if she hadn't seen it in decades
It was much more quieter
And a bit more gloomy
She walked slower now
Her pulse booming in her ears
If she could just find her home,
Everything would be alright
If she could just return to her house,
Everything would be fine
She heard ambulance sirens in the distance
The only thing that was heard
She hoped a baby was about to be born
Not that an accident had happened
She walked and finally saw her house
But her excitement suddenly dropped
Something was wrong
Terribly wrong
In her front yard stood the ambulance she'd heard
Also police cars
And there was at least twenty people around her house
Melanie ran towards it all
Just as the front door opened
Melanie abruptly stopped
And watched the people walking out
It was her mother
Held back by weaponed policemen
They securely held her arms as she was screaming
In shock Melanie ran to them
"What's going on!?"
"MELANIE!" Mommy bellowed "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?"
Melanie was too shocked now to answer
The policemen forced Mommy to calm down
And they pushed her into one of their vans
Melanie felt how she got lifted up by something
She screamed and kicked but it was Edwin
"Melanie, where the hell have you been? You have been gone for three days"
Melanie's tears started pouring "What's happening to Mommy?"
Edwin's voice was shaky and weak "She won't be with us for a while"
"Why not!"
Melanie didn't remember so much after that
She remembered a police taking her aside
Telling her the story
That made Melanie lose the rest she had left of her sanity
"Your father is dead. Your mother, who has been suffering from alcoholism for a while now, relapsed when your father brought home another woman. They're both dead. You and your brother are going to foster care."
Melanie passed out after that
