'Ludwig I want to go!'

Ludwig turned around and looked at Feliciano, scowling.

'Please? I want to be there for you.'

'Nien. You must stay here Feliciano.'

'Please Luddy?'

'Feliciano you must not go with me. You have to stay here to keep the happiness up ok?'

Feliciano sniffed and sat on his bed. Ludwig was darting around the room quickly grabbing all of his clothes and shoving them in his suitcase as fast as possible so he could leave for the next train. There was a knock on the door.

'Mr Ludwig, are you alright?' Kiku cautiously walked in, his kitten in his arms.

Before Ludwig could even begin to think of an excuse, Feliciano jumped in.

'It's his brother's sixteenth birthday and Ludwig forgot, so he is going back home to see him.'

'Ah, ok. Sorry.' Kiku exited.

'Thank you Feliciano.' For a second, Ludwig paused to turn around and nod gratefully.

After a while, Feliciano got bored sitting on the bed so he went and stood next to Ludwig who was packing up his typewriter.

'Why did you bring that? Can I read what you have read?'

'I brought it to write and Nien.'

Feliciano pouted and walked with him as he easily carried the writing machine over to his bed and put it in the suitcase along with some papers.

He was about to zip it up, but Feliciano jokingly sat inside it, still pouting.

'Feliciano I told you that you could not come with me.'

'Awww...' Feliciano reluctantly got off the suit case and Ludwig zipped it back up again.

Ludwig had to be harsh with Feliciano and himself. The things you could see in that hospital were scarring. A visit a couple of years ago's images had burned into his memories. And it wasn't just the images, it was the sounds. The screams and yells of pure pain gurgled around the whole building.

This was a hospital for people who were physically or mentally illegal. They were either in the LGBTI community or they had gone against the law and was hurt when running away.

He couldn't let Feliciano experience that. He is too innocent.

'Luddy? Have you finished packing? Kiku said the next train doesn't leave until tomorrow morning. Did you not hear him?' Feliciano paused as Ludwig slowly shook his head. 'Can we go and make dinner?' Feliciano's big eyes bore into Ludwig's.

'Yes of course. Let's go.' The next train is not until tomorrow.

'Great! I was hungry!' Feliciano grinned brightly 'It's your turn to cook.'

'Oh I didn't know. I will cook... wurst.' They began to walk downstairs.

'But that's not a full meal! Hmm...' Feliciano thought for a second with his hand to his face, 'I could make pasta as well? I could make a tomato sauce that would go nicely with spaghetti and wurst.'

'Alright.'

Feliciano grinned even brighter. They entered the kitchen and got to work.

'Ah! I almost forgot.' Feliciano walked over to the radio and turned it on. 'I can't cook in silence.'

Ludwig quickly boiled water and put his wurst inside before putting a lid on. Feliciano quickly prepared a tomato sauce, humming the tune and tilting his head side to side in time with the music.

'Do you know all of these songs?' Ludwig asked.

Feliciano just shrugged in response.

They prepared the rest of the meal in silence apart from the music and Feliciano's soft, happy humming.

After receiving compliments about the food and washing the dishes, Feliciano and Ludwig headed upstairs to bed. The evening went too fast for both of them and by the time they had gotten their pajamas on and were cosied up in bed, they were not sleepy at all. They had managed to get a few hours of sleep and it was about quarter to five in the morning.

Feliciano tried not to squirm but he couldn't help himself, his eyes were wide open and he was feeling restless. He turned around to see Ludwig, who flicked open his eyes straight away.

'Ludwig, I can't sleep.' Feliciano whined.

'Me too.' Ludwig thought for a moment, looking into Feliciano's eyes and gently petting his hair, 'We could go on a walk?' He made that sentence sound more like a question.

Feliciano nodded and smiled. He got up and briskly walked over to his suitcase to pull out a woolly jumper. Ludwig did the same, putting on layers before walking to the door, hand in hand with Feliciano, and as quietly as possible walking down the creaky stairs.
