Densel's POV

Chapter 50

Eternity

"You were like your father, grandson," Lorenzo smirked as he drank his scotch. The words sting. The pain stayed in my chest. I remained blank-face. "Useless. Bad luck. Piece of shit." He raised his glass to me. "Coward." He spread his arms. Wide.

I want to pun—I breathed. No.

The old man stayed in his posture. The wrinkles were the sign he was really old. But he has power and money. No one ages when you have these shits. He doesn't ages as he knew to himself.

Inhaling through my nose, my hands were clenching tightly, my raging eyes looking at the miserable man I've ever known in my life. As I was restraining my anger to him, I shut my lips.

"How dare you to ditch the Chua's daughter like that!" He was clutching the squared-glass while pointing a finger to me. I stood still. He laughed devilishly, a forceful one. "At least your sister is willingly to give in."

Suddenly, the veins in my neck were visible. My cheekbones were sharpening. I was glaring. Hard. And hard. But he smirked. The devil never plays fair. He was dangerous. No one in this family crossed a line. He's a manipulative monster. Lorenzo has no heart and soul. He only wants power. More power. Money shits.

"The Wongs like Leigh, right? Yuan likes my granddaughter. This is tradition." Umiling siya sa kahibangang naiisip niya. Tradition my ass. "Leigh is useful. I thought you, Leigh, and Ashleigh were useless to this family. I guess, I was wrong?"

You are sick.

I bit my tongue. I tasted iron. Damn, blood.

"Speak, grandson. Let me hear those futile words of yours."

Fuck. I closed my eyes suddenly.

His office sent multiple shivers in my arms. I loathe this place. I hate him. We were even. We don't even like each other. His desk was our borderline. Ilang binder ang mayroon sa kanyang mesa. My eyes skimmed those objects as I was collecting my thoughts. Think well. Never let the anger occupy your being. Never let him win.

But I know, we were not going to win. We already lose as our feet stepped in this mansion. Once upon a time, we thought we were free. But my father left us. Alone. Never came back. I and Leigh were young, clueless, and innocent. We didn't have anything. My mother had no job. We sold our souls to this monster. We can't do anything but to be his puppets. Do whatever he wants.

I know the devil did something why my father left us. I don't know. Seeing his madness, seeing how cruel this old man in front of me. I know he did something.

I gulped as bile forming in my throat.

Don't say it. "Go to hell," I breathed the words as a fire, flaming his system.

But he watered it immediately. It was gone. Disappeared. He will let you down. He just buried me fucking deep.

Lorenzo laughed throatily as if this was the funniest words he ever heard. "We're already here." He raised his glass.
