Aktualizacja (11.07.2019) PL: Na wyspach Archipelagu Malediwów jedyną w zasadzie formacją roślinną są niewielkie fragmenty lasów tropikalnych. Dominującym gatunkiem jest palma kokosowa, która rośnie głównie na plaży, a poza nią drzewo chlebowe. Resztę szaty roślinnej stanowi roślinność morska w postaci raf koralowych, które są atrakcją turystyczną tego kraju. Świat zwierzęcy jest bardzo ubogi. Przyczyną jest wielkość wyspy, oraz duża gęstość zaludnienia. Dominującymi zwierzętami są wszelkie gatunki morskie jak ryby do których należą tuńczyki i bonito. Poza rybami, mieszkańcami wód, jak i plaż są żółwie, gdzie te w dużej ilości żyją w lagunach otaczających wyspy. Liczne jest także ptactwo, gdzie głównymi gatunkami są ptaki morskie.

The reason is the size of the island and high population density. The predominant animals are all marine species, such as fish, which include tuna and bonito. In addition to fish, inhabitants of waters and beaches are turtles, where they live in large amounts in the lagoons surrounding the islands. There are also numerous birds, where the main species are seabirds.
