The Painter

Tick tock, tick tock
Time is running out
Said the clock
But yet I decided to lay low
Like a criminal living in a hideout

I've said too much
Cared too much
Loved too much
But what was point?
Your heart's still drenched with red paint
Encarved in it, the signature of your beloved painter

Countless times he revisited you to finish up some final touches
Each time, covering you with lashes of blue paint
When are you going to realise that he is filling you with pain?

Let me be your painter
I will replace every tear with a smile
Fill in every crevice that he created

You still love him
You need more time
But he has already moved on to another painting
While you're left hanging there in shades of lilac
Wondering if he will ever come back
