Trains

16 1 1

So you find yourself in a subway
Looking for a way out
All these years you pondered about what life was about
So many pathways you could never decide upon

Life is like a train
Doors open and close everyday
Leaving you with only a few seconds to decide
Board it or wait for the next one to arrive

Board it and well let's just say
You have to fight your way through
Hesitate just a little
And someone might take your spot

You board this train that is Life
With no idea where this journey might lead you to
The doors are closing now
Are sure about this?
This is a step you can't take back

Your train moves along smoothly
Just when things couldn't get any better
Your train stops
Everyone is pushing past you
Taking you along with them

You try to get back on the train
But the door is already closed
What do you do now?
That train isn't coming back anymore

You're lost and confused
The train doesn't wait for the bruised
But you still have the right to choose
You can choose to find another train or die trying chasing an old train
An old life
An old memory
That's fading away into the darkness
