Kali cleaned her katar on the old captain's sleeve. The blade cut the fabric, but didn't leave any mark. She had been too quick to slice his throat for blood to taint the metal.
Her hand was still, her heart beating on a slow, regular tempo, but Kali could feel every nerve in her body tense. She could feel Death running through her veins, hungry for more offering. Killing this man had been useless to her task, but it felt good after all the trouble he had given her. Yet, after two days, a lot of patience, and a trail of bodies left behind, the map eluded her once again.
But she was getting close. Now, she knew where it was. Death would be served again very soon.
