“What is the sentence? Death? Life in detention?” My friend, Kimberly, asked as soon as I left the principal’s office.

“Ha-ha, no. It’s worse than that.” Kimberly let out a dramatic gasp.

“What is it this time?”

“I have to join the newspaper staff.” Kimberly stopped dead in her tracks, and gave me a look of horror.

“You have to join the nerd herd?!” I slowly nodded my head. “That sucks.” She mumbled.

“I know … by the way, your joining with me.” I added.

“Oh, hell no! I rather stay in a room for an hour with Monkey Brain.” Monkey Brain is the nick name Kimberly gave Elliot Rather.

Elliot Rather is Colby’s best friend and also his sidekick. In other words he is Kimberly and I’s enemy as much as Colby is.

“Too bad, you're doing it.” I said. Even if she said ‘no’, I knew in the end, she would give in.

Then, as if I was his best friend, Sheldon Jenkins, the principal’s son, walked up to me.

“Ms. Banny, I hope you will make it on time to our meeting today. We start at 3:00 p.m sharp. Tardiness is not accepted.” Sheldon said in a nasally voice. But before he walked away, Sheldon pushed up his big rimmed, black glasses, gave Kimberly a weird look, and then walked away.

“What was with that look he gave you?” I asked Kimberly, she looked up … yes I said up. Kimberly is a short girl, 5’3 and has long black hair. At times I call her Snooki, from Jersey Shore, because she looks just like her.

“I don’t know … but, what I do know is that we have 30 minutes 'til school is out, and an hour 'til your meeting.” Her eyes lit up, as did mine.

“Chunky Monkey!” Kimberly and I yelled at each other, and race down the halls, to our cars.

This is something we tend to do, skip the last class of the day.

We go to our local grocery store, buy a 2 quart of ice cream (Chunky Monkey), and eat it as we race down the aisle, on the carts they have for those who can’t walk.

“I am not late!” I shouted as I ran into the small classroom.

“Ms. Young, you are indeed late. Five minutes, three seconds late to be exact.” Sheldon said. I glared at him as I took a seat in an empty chair.

“You’re sitting in Sheldon’s chair.” I looked to my side to see an emo looking guy next to me. He had jet black hair, side bangs that fell to his sharp jaw on the right side, and the iciest blue eyes I have ever seen.

When I realized I was staring at him, I cleared my throat.

“I don’t give-“ I started to say, but someone’s voice stopped me.

“Ms. Banny.” I looked up at Sheldon. He was giving me, or shall I say he was attempting, to glare at me. “I don’t like you talking while we are trying to have a meeting. If you choose to talk again, I will have to ban you from this club … and we know what will happen if you get banned from this club…” I stood up and walked up to Sheldon. We were face to face.

“Go tell your daddy… I know where you live... And if you ever call me, Ms. Banny again, say good bye to those cheap, nerdy, glasses.” I said in a stern voice.

I could see Sheldon’s eyes grew large with fear. I smiled and walked back to my seat.

“I have never seen him so afraid.” The emo boy said. I smiled.

“You should stick around with me, I can show you a lot more where that came from.” Emo boy just nodded and then looked back to where Sheldon was trying to figure out where he left off before he threatened me.
