CHAPTER TWELVE | THE REASON

It's two nights, seven days
Seven nights for the very first time we met

I walked into the arena with the kids.

"Mommy, I want daddy's shirt," Kassandra says.

"Why I thought uncle Randy was your favorite," I asked.

"No, daddy angry like me, so I want his shirt," she said, giggling.

Did she call herself angry?

"Baby, you're not angry," I said.

"But Auntie Steph said I am," she said.

"Auntie Steph is a crazy woman," I said.

We walked around exploring the building until we reached this catering where all the superstars and divas were eating.

We walked into catering because Kassandra spotted cupcakes and Damon spotted fries.

Both were pulling me in different directions.

"Stop pulling me, and we will get the cupcakes and fries," I said.

"Shaniece!" A voice called out from behind me.

I looked around until I noticed Paige throwing her hands up in the air. After I got the kids what they wanted, we walked over to the table where she was.

There was a large group of people, including Brock, and Nicole sitting at the table.

"Hey," I said, taking a seat and putting Kassandra on my lap, and Damon took a seat next to me.

Soon Shane walked up to the table and took a seat on the other side of me.

"Did you guys just get here? " Joe asked.

"Nah, We've been here for almost thirty minutes or so," I answered.

"Why didn't you ride with us?" Brie asked.

"Because I wasn't thinking," I explained.

"Mommy, where's my daddy's shirt?" Kassandra asked.

I pulled out Brock's suplex city graphic shirt for Kassandra and helped her put it on.

"Ouch, so you not going to support me, Kassie?" Joe asked.

"No, daddy, better than you," Kassandra said, sticking out her tongue.

"That's not nice, Kassie," I said.

"Sorry, but that's the truth," she said.

"I don't know where she gets that attitude from," I said, shaking my head.

"From you," Shane said.

"I think I'm nice," I said.

"No, you're not," Brock said.

"Who asked you," I said, rolling my eyes.

"I've known you for almost twelve years, and trust me; you're not nice, Shaniece," Brock said.

"Wait, when and how did you guys meet?" Jey asked.

"Well, a few years ago, I met him backstage. When he lost the fight, and he got in the locker room and trashed it, and nobody could stop him, so they sent me in, and I got him to stop. From there, we became friends, and soon we started dating after that," I explained.

"When did y'all break up?" Jimmy asked.

"We never actually broke up. I just left Shaniece for someone else." He said, looking at me.

I looked away.

"What do you mean?" Joe asked.

"We just drifted," Brock mumbled.

I looked down at Kassandra, looking sleepy, and I also felt like I was going to cry, so I wanted to leave.

"Welp, it looks like Kassandra wants to take a nap, so we'll be in my office," I said, getting up.

"Damon, are you coming?" I asked Damon.

"Nope, I'm good." He replied.

I nodded.

"Behave," I said, walking away.

I carried Kassandra to my office.

Once inside, I laid her down on the couch and sat down with my face in my hands, thinking about the past with Brock.

He left me.

We didn't drift apart.

He didn't want me.

I can't believe I was in love with him.

God, I still love him. Will he do it again?

This time around, I won't let my heart be broken again by him.
