Chapter One

*Flashback*
"Oh My Gosh.." Iris whispered as she walked into her once shared apartment with her beloved boyfriend, Drew. 
Muffled moans came from the bedroom when Iris entered the room. She tiptoed to the top of the stairs and stood outside the
door. Moans continued to be released from what seemed to be a girl. 
Iris twisted the handle of the door slowly and entered the bedroom; shocked to find her 'faithful' boyfriend in bed with 
another. 
Iris screamed profanities at the girl who made a swift exit. Drew stood and approached Iris. In an attempt to comfort 
her and apoligise, he placed a hand on her shoulder which she shrugged off and then placed a slap around his face. 
Being the uncontrolable mad-man that he is he took Iris by the cuff of her shirt and threw her into the closet where he proceeded
to lock her for the next day. No food or water. 
When Iris finally got let out of the closet as 'punishment' Drew made it clear that he was the man of the house by beating Iris
senseless. 
Iris reported him to the police. 
Drew faced a 7 1/2 year sentence for abusing a woman and care need deprivation. 
*END OF FLASKBACK*

Iris clasped her starbucks cup in nervousness. She would normally be in her college now, cutting someones hair or making
giving them a make-over; if it wasn't for the work experience that she had to do. 
She had to be in a work setting for 4 months. Unfortunately for her, because she is so talented in the hair and beauty course
her teacher saw fit to send her to America for the work experience. 
Her phone buzzed against the metal airport seats, so Iris took it out of her pocket. Noticing it was Francis Lawrence she
answered hesitantly. 
"Hi Francis. Everything okay?" She asked nicely
"Yes, have you been put onto the flight yet?" 
"No not yet, it is in a few minutes. Would you like me to call you when i get out?" She replyed trying to sound good for the boss. 
"Yes please sweetie. Also, there has been a change in plan, because the make-up for the women is so intricate and requires 
specialist work, we feel it more appropriate you handle the boy's hair and make-up. Anyway, we will send someone to pick you
up when you land. Have a safe flight and we will see you as soon as you land-" Francis finished and ended the call with the
all too familiar buzzing at the end. 
Nonetheless, Iris still remained in her position. She was scared. When they told her she would be working on the set of 'The
Hunger Games - Catching Fire.' Her teacher PROMISED she would not need to assist any men other than those of who she is working
for. I.E. Francis. 
She paniced remembering once more the terrifying ordeal with Drew. 'He's still behind bars, remember. Mum said not all men are 
like that' she reminded herself, but that did not stop her nervousness. She hesitated turning around and going home when the 
name of her plane ride was called through the megaphone. She stood in line and handed her tickets to the man, then walked through
the narrow hallway to the plane. 
'No turning back now' she said to herself as she sat in her seat and plugged in her earphones pleased to her 'Sleeping with sirens' 
was the first artist to be played.
~~~~~~~LA AIRPORT~~~~~~~
The LA Airport was much bigger than Heathrow. Iris dialled Francis' number and told him she had landed. She grabbed her bags 
and signed out waiting in the waiting area. A woman approached, around Iris' age. Quite tall. Blonde. 
"Hey i'm Jennifer, You must be.. Iris?" She muttered. Thankfull that is was her and not a man Iris rose to her feet and 
shook Jennifers hand. 
"Yes, nice to meet you." She replyed. 
"Ooh aren't you nice and British. Hah, you're going to be FINE here. You're in the boys department right?" Jennifer asked taking
Iris' bags and walking out of the airport.
"Yes." Is all Iris said. Looking down to the floor. 
"Hey, don't worry. They're all such good guys. I mean you got Sam Claflin, who is such a nice guy. He plays Finnick.He's a gentleman too. Then
you got Liam Hemsworth. He plays Gale to a 'T' he is such a nice guy and he is so caring. Honestly couldn't hurt a fly. 
Then you get Woody Harrelson, who is funny, kind of a father figure, sure enough, He's Haymitch.- Ooh and Josh Hutcherson. He is AMAZING. 
I don't think men come much better than him.- AND he plays Peeta, gladly. " She finished. Alot to take in. 
"So i'm guessing you are Katniss?" I mumble, she nods.
"Have you not seen the film?" She asked. 
"No but i have read all the books, and you seem like the right person to play her." Iris says hopping into the car. 
"So are you nervous? You know? About working with us?" She said jumping into the drivers seat and starting the engine. 
"More about the guys" Iris mutters, hoping Jennifer didn't hear. 
"Why?" Jennifer asks. Iris hesitates and then realises that she has found a friend in Jennifer. She asks Jennifer not to 
tell anyone and tells her about drew; and how she is now scared of men.
