"This one says negative."

Liz let out a breath in relief.

I looked over at the other two.

"We have 2 more to do."

She looked at me again.

"Can you look at them? Again?"

"Sure."

I went over to the other tests.

I gasped.

"What? What is it?"

"They both say positive..." I drifted off.

She looked at me and started crying.

I opened my arms and gave her a hug.

"It's okay." I said as soothingly as I could.

There was a knock on the door.

"Liz? Are you okay?" Ross said.

"Go away!" Liz screamed.

What did she have against my cousin?

"I want to talk about last night!" Ross said louder.

Unless....

Oh no.

I stood up. "You should talk to him."

"I don't wanna."

"Fine. I'll tell him to leave. But you owe me."

"Thank you." She said running into the bathroom.

I opened the door.

"Liz, hey- You're not Liz." Ross said.

"No, I'm not. She's gotten the flu and doesn't feel well. She might miss work tomorrow."

and for the next 9 months....

"Oh. Okay." Ross seemed relieved.

I slowly nodded.

Ross walked down the stairs of their house and left.

I waited until I knew he left and went back into Liz's room.

"Liz..?" I asked.

"Yes?"

"Did you sleep with Ross?"

"I think so." She said slowly. "Please don't kill me! Please don't tell him either!"

"Okay, okay. It's okay. I won't tell him. I'll schedule an appointment to see if you really are... you know."

I stood up and flung my purse over my shoulder.

"See you later, Liz."

I opened the door and left her house.

"Yes, Ma'am. Okay. See you then." I hung the phone up.

"Who was that?" Max asked sitting down next to me at the counter.

"Just the doctor."

"Why, is something wrong with you? I mean, other than the obvious?" He cracked a sly grin.

I smiled and smacked him in the shoulder.

"Ow." He said plainly.

I laughed.

"Seriously, are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah, it's not for me. It's for Liz."

"Why? What happened?"

"Nothing really. Just rescheduled an appointment since she's not feeling well today." I lied.

"Anyway, can you help me with something?" Max asked me.

"Okay, what is it?"

"It's my room. I'm thinking of redecorating and I need an expert."

"So why'd you ask me?" I said, laughing right after I said it.

"Ha.Ha."

We walked up the stairs and he shut the door to his room once we entered.

"I've known you for how long, and you still think I won't notice when you lie. What's up with Liz?"

"It's personal."

"Urg. I didn't want to pull this card, but I'll tell you something personal about me if you tell me. Just promise not to tell."

"Uh. Fine. You can't tell either." I said.

He held his pinkie out. "Pinkie promise?"

I smiled. "Sure." I connected my pinkie with his.

"What is it with Liz?" Max asked.

"Liz may or may not be pregnant." I said.

His face lit up. "OMG!" He yelled.

"Oh my God, Max. You're really loud."

"Who's the dad?"

"Sorry, I can't tell you until you share your information."

"Okay."

"What are you sharing, Max?"

"So, you know how I was crying when I saw Mason...."

"Yeah?"

"I'm going to tell you about that."

"What is it?" I asked, suddenly intrigued.

He opened his mouth to talk.
