Shelby

The car ride was pretty crowded and loud.

Did I mention crowded? Should I mention it?

YES.

There was a driver's seat in the front and a passenger seat. That was where Adam and Alesa sat.

In the back, there was a weird circle thing that the seats did. Like in a limo.

Where there's room.

There is no room back here.

None.

I sat next to Max on the end. Across from me was Ross. Everyone was already in the car, so it was a straight drive to the restaurant.

There was a lot of talking going on, and I could hear all of it, but I couldn't understand it.

***

After 25 minutes of a long and loud car ride, we made it to the fancy restaurant.

Adam walked up to the people and said we had a reservation while we waited outside and tried to get out of the clown car.

Liz, Sasha, and Addie were the last to get out. For now at least.

I walked up to them.

"How are you guys? I feel like I haven't seen you in a while."

"We just saw you this morning." Addie said smiling.

"That was like forever ago!"

We all laughed.

"Don't look now, but Max is totally staring at you."

"Really?" I asked. "He wouldn't."

"Fine." Liz took her phone out and pointed it behind me.

I guess she took a picture.

"Here." Liz said handing me her phone.

I looked. He was looking at me. Well, I think. I wasn't in the picture, but he was looking in the relative direction.

But in the picture was Tyler walking out of the car, staring at Max.

Tyler was here?

I handed the phone back.

"Let's head in!" Adam yelled.

We all walked into the restaurant.

I sat next to Max and Tyler sat next to me.

I looked over at Max. I could basically see the steam come off from him.

I grabbed his hand and gave him a smile.

He squeezed my hand and he smiled.

My phone buzzed so I let go of Max's hand to check my phone.

"Nope. No phones at the table. Only conversation." Adam said.

"What are you going to get, Shelby?" Tyler asked me.

"I don't know yet. I'll check now." I grabbed the menu that was in front of me and skimmed through it.

"You might like the Macaroni and Cheese." Max said and I laughed.

He knew that I love Mac and Cheese.

The waitress came around and asked what we wanted to eat and drink.

***AFTER FOOD***

I ended up getting the Mac and Cheese- along with Max.

It was now 8:00 and we were heading back into the car.

"The night doesn't end here." Adam said.

"What do you mean? I thought we were getting dinner and that was it?" Alesa asked.

"Actually, we are going to a club/bar."

"Wooo!" Basically everyone screamed.

I don't drink, so I wasn't so excited.

We need a designated driver though.

"I'll do it." I said.

"Perfect." Adam said. "Here are the keys. Choose someone to sit with you in the front."

Practically everyone looked at me with pleading eyes, knowing that the front was the roomiest part of the car.

"Max, get over here." I said.

"In your face, suckers!" He said in a weird voice.

***

We were in the car for maybe 10 minutes until the topic of Tyler came up.

"I think I like him again, Max."

"You what?" Max said.

Luckily, there was a wall between the front seats and the back.

"I know, I-"

"No! You said you were over him!"

"I think I was just saying that to assure myself."

"He's going to do it again."

"He's changed!"

"Not more than 5 weeks ago beat Ross up!"

"You can't make me change my mind."

Only 5 minutes after that, we made it to the club.
