Shelby

I woke up on the floor of Tyler's house.

Same place as last night.

Speaking of last night, what time is it?

I went to get up, but I could barely move.

I grabbed the table next to me in hope that it could help me get up.

It could.

Tyler most likely is in his room recording.

So, I quietly tried to escape the house.

I forgot that Tyler drove us here.

I have to walk to my house.

My house is 30 miles away.

I reached for my phone, but it wasn't there.

Oh no. I left my purse in Tyler's house.

I couldn't get back in because my key was in the house already.

I mentally groaned and started walking to the closest restaurant.

The closest restaurant was 2 miles away.

Not too bad.

But still terrible.

I had a limp in my right leg.

Eventually, I made it to the town area. And the closest restaurant was IHOP.

I walked in, feeling  some eyes on me.

Why? I have no idea.

I asked for a table for one.

I could tell that she was trying not to stare at me.

Once I ordered my drink, I went up to go to the bathroom.

And I regretted it so much.

But, not knowing what I looked like would've eaten me alive.

I had redness and a hint of purple surrounding my face.

Bruises were to form there.

I had blood on my cheekbones and on my lips.

I pulled up my shirt.

My ribs were purple.

I looked at my legs and arms.

Red and purple everywhere.

I walked back out only to run into someone.

"Shelby?"

"Ross?" I replied.

"What happened to you?"

I had only moments to think.

I was eventually going to tell him what was actually happening, but right now is not an option.

"I got hit by a car." Dammit Shelby! That's not believable.

"How?" Ross replied.

Maybe he actually believes me.

"Here, let's sit down and talk." He said to me as my legs were about to fail me.

Ross

Getting hit by a car?

Believable other than the face. I've seen multiple fights when I was in school and this is what their faces looked like afterward. But I'll leave it alone, for now at least.

"Do you know who did it?" I asked her.

"No, they drove away."

"Do you have your phone?"

"No, I left it at Tyler's by accident."

I forgot about Tyler.

Where was he when this happened to her?

"Oh, okay. How did you get here?"

"I walked."

"Okay. I drove here separately from the rest of my family. After lunch, I'll drive you to the closest Patients First. Sound like a plan?" I asked her.

"Okay. I'm really hungry. I didn't eat breakfast."

"So, let's eat!" I replied, trying to sound enthusiastic.

I ordered my usual and Shelby ordered an omelette.
