Sometime

by  sloanranger

I sit alone in darkness, I sit alone in light,

I lie alone and hold myself

throughout the long dark night.

I've been loved before, so very many times;

I have been cherished and adored

throughout my own lifetime.

I've had men that wanted more, than I could ever give,

I have had loves I sent away,

I could not then forgive.

There were some I knew, of course - that I could not have.

But they were few and it often proved,

to be in my behalf.

I thought I'd stay alone awhile, just a little longer;

I did not mind, but now I find

I have to be much stronger.

You've come along and struck a light, in my imagination.

My feelings give me quite a fright,

take all my concentration.

But I am strong, I think I am - in spirit and in mind;

these thoughts of mine I will decline -

I'm sure I will ...  sometime.
