Propinquity

by sloanranger

A prince of a word, the first time I heard

it spoken was by Jane Wyman.

In a film best forgot, she explained it was not

chemistry, but being beside one.

She put forth a theory though not very clear - we

love that which does surround us.

More habit than love, not sent from above,

familiarity's what does astound us.

No need to go to exotic extremes -

true love's on hand for all it would seem.

Just lay your eyes on the first thing you see,

stick around a while and true love will be.
