A Fairytale's Mishap

CHAPTER 39: Goodbye

"No! Where is my son?! Where is my son?!"

She keeps on hearing that female voice. But she can't open her eyes. She's too weak.

"Where is he?! Why did you rescue that girl?! I need to see my son! Where is he?!"

There's more authority with that male voice.

"Your highness, I'm s-sorry... We're going back there. But it's too dangerous right now. Bombs are still exploding. We couldn't risk more lives, your highness."

"You couldn't risk more lives?! What the f*ck are you saying?! My son is in there!!! Do you know what you're talking about?! My son, the future king of Zanarkand is there left behind!!!"

Galit na galit ang boses ng hari. Ngunit patuloy pa rin siyang nasasadlak sa kinalalagyan. She can't move. No matter how hard she tries… she can't open her eyes.

"Edward, baka nasa helicopter lang ang anak natin. Baka. . . niloloko lang nila tayo... Anjan lang sa helicopter ang anak natin di ba? Hindi ba, Edwardo? Right?"

"Sssshhh... Stop it, Alicia. You're tired. Go now. You need to take a rest. Ako ng bahala dito."

May panginginig na sa boses ng hari.

"I am wondering why you even save this girl. Dapat hinayaan niyo na lang siya. You should have left her there. She’s the reason why my son is not here!!! I sent the rescue for my son! Not for anyone else especially her!!!"

"But your highness, the whole people of Zanarkand is watching. We couldn't just leave her there."

Sa sinabi nito ay naalala niya ang mga naganap. Bring back my son... alive!... DJ... Iyon ang patuloy na bulong ng kanyang puso... DJ... DJ... Naramdaman niya ang pagtulo ng luha sa kanyang pisngi... Then, slowly, the darkness engulfs her...

She keeps on hearing voices. Naririnig niyang nagkakagulo ang paligid. They are shouting. Some are crying... Gusto niyang malaman kung ano ang nangyayari... But, she's been losing consciousness...

Tila may mga boses na nakikiusap sa kanya. Naririnig niyang may tumatawag sa pangalan niya. There are hush of voices surrounding her. Hindi niya maintindihan ang mga 'yon. Ngunit tila may nararamdaman siyang kuryusidad sa boses ng mga ito.

She really wants to open her eyes... or to even move her hands... But she can't... There's just darkness everywhere...

Something is really painful. May patuloy na tumutusok sa kanyang kamay. Then,she can feel something that's rushing through her veins... She can no longer bear the pain...

Kathryn: Aaaahhhh!

Nanay: Ssshhh... Anak, tahan na... 

Narinig niya ang boses ng ina. Pilit niyang minulat ang mga mata. Brightness... There's too much light around her. Inikot niya ang paningin. Dumako iyon sa inang nakatabi sa gilid ng kama. May mga luha itong nakatingin sa kanya. Labis na pag-aalala ang nasa mukha nito.

Nanay: Jusko!... Salamat, jusko!... Nagkamalay na ang aking anak...

Napansin niyang may nakatayong babaeng nakadamit ng puti sa tabi nito. Naalarma siya sa paligid...
