The Bad Boy, Cupid & Me

by @Slim_Shady aka Hasti

From the beginning to the last words ever written, this girl made a magnet between me and my bed. I can hardly remember the time when I stood up to have a break from reading her work. Her work of art.

On December 12, 2012, 'The Bad Boy, Cupid And Me' was ranked up to Teen Fiction #1, with more than 12,000,000 reads, 170,000 votes, and 24,000 comments. I bet this book has been a life long experience for Hasti.

The Persian princess made an excellent plot for the story. I love how each of the characters develop. My all time favorite is Chloe. She made us laugh, she made us cry. The chapter when she ate the 'hash brownies' made the whole world rumble in laughter. Talking to a sponge to cook her a patty, congratulating a potato for having a part in the 'Toy Story', looking for Narnia in a closet, falling out of the bed 'backwards', and hell, there's a whole lot more.

Chloe: Where the heck is Narnia?

Reece: Chloe, please get out of my closet.

Reece: Did you just fall off my bed?

Chloe: Nooo, I attacked the floor.

Reece: Backwards?

Chloe: I'm frikin' talented!

Chloe: Can you make me a Krabby Patty, please?

*talking to a yellow sponge on the kitchen sink*

Valentino: *laughing* Oh this is fucking gold. I love Chloe on drugs.

And with those lines, I can die now with a wide smile on my face. I didn't even have a voice when I was laughing. I was 'breath-laughing'! My face easily turned red and there were tears forming under my eyes. Hasti did a great job.

And of course, with those laughter and sarcasm, there will always come drama. And yet again, Hasti made it all balanced and perfect. She creatively made Ashton as the antagonist. Also, I love his name. Hot, yet evil. Ashton De Ville. French? And very sweet? He appears to be Mr. Right. Making an antagonist to be perfect, attracts readers to know more about him, and how he is related to the main character or the protagonists. And we must all remember that each character has its own complications. There are no perfect characters. This cast is a great example.

The ending was great. Absolutely great. The climax made it all possible to make the ending well done. Chloe discovering Reece making out with a different girl who turns out to be forcing him? Let's spell it out. P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Kissing in front of a crowd at the finale which is Chloe's last bucketlist, is a meaningful ending.

Reece's POV: Nerd. Loser. Princess. Chloe. I smile at her, and for a moment, she's stunned, before she smiles back. And in that moment, I was complete.

Chloe: Reece, stop it! You have to win! You can't lose!

Reece: Sorry, Chloe, but the girl I love wants me to prove my feelings for her, and apparently flowers and chocolates are too mediocre.

Chloe: The girl that loves you back, is sorry for being a selfish bitch and wants you to win the Championships.

Reece: Say it.

Chloe: What?

Reece: Say the words, Chloe.

Chloe: . . . I love you.

Reece: *smirks* I love you, too.

Like she said, 'it's been one heck of a ride'. To her, and to all of us readers. One year and eight months was the time she spent on writing the masterpiece. And it was all worth it. Honestly, without the story, heck, without her, I wouldn't have faith on love anymore. I'm overly dramatic when it comes to romance. And life has never offered me the best dining experience in love. But I always say to myself, "If Chloe found her bad boy, and so will I. Someday." Hope was always there to keep me strong in love. And to finding my Mr. Right. Whether he's bad boy or not.

I'll have my own Reece. Some other day. I'll keep waiting.
