Thanksgiving pt. 3

Nico's POV

We were all sitting by the fire in the den. Leo was freaking everyone by sticking his hand in and out of the fire.

"How the hell are you doing that?"

I asked. He shrugged.

"I don't know, I've just always been fire proof. I don't get called Charmander for nothing."

"No one's called you that since, like, October."

"That's not my fault."

I rolled my eyes. Thanatos giggled.

"Hey, so quick question."

Charlie said.

"What?"

"Why did you name your kid after the personification of death?"

Leo burst out laughing.

"Cause I'm Hades, and my wife is Peresphone...it kinda fit."

"Okay, but still...who names there kid Thanatos? That's just asking for bullying."

"Well, we're going to home school him anyway."

Persephone said. Dad turned to her.

"Since when?"

"Since last week. I read in a book that kids who are home schooled excel better in life than kids who went to public school."

"Hey, I went to public school and I excelled."

Dad said. I opened my mouth, and he turned to me.

"Don't say anything."

I closed my mouth.

"I'm not homeschooling Thanatos, he'll have no friends and he'll be a loser."

"But Hades-"

"No."

Persephone crossed her arms and huffed.

"Whatever."

Leo, Charlie and I all looked at each other. Fucking rich bitches.

"Well, dad...there's a reason we came here."

"You said something about not having any money?"

"Yeah, you see..."

I explained what had happened.

"Wow, you guys are stupid."

I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't name my kid Thanatos."

Charlie mumbled. Leo started laughing.

"Anyway, are you sure you just want to take a bus? I'm sure Charon can drive you."

"No, the bus is fine."

My dad pulled his wallet out of his sweatpants. Classy. He gave me a hundred.

"We only need 40."

I said, trying to give it back.

"It's fine, take it."

Charlie grabbed it and looked at it in awe.

"I've never seen a hundred dollar bill up close."

Oh. I felt a bit of pain in my heart. Then Leo grabbed it.

"I saw one once when I was...like 10."

Jesus. I know people don't usually carry 100 dollar bills, but still. I felt uncomfortable.

"Thanks dad."

I said. He smiled. Persephone got up and picked Thanny off the ground.

"It's way past your bed time."

She walked out of the room.

"Well...see you guys in the morning."

Hades said, walking out after them. Hazel just kinda sat there, as we stared at her.

"Do you guys need something?"

She asked.

"We're kinda expecting you to go. Like everyone else did."

Charlie said. Hazel rolled her eyes.

"I'm waiting for Frank to call. He's suppose to call when he lands, but he hasn't and I'm getting worried."

"Maybe he forgot."

Charlie said.

"But Frank's not a forgetful person."

Leo made a sound of protest.

"Why don't you just text him?"

"I did."

"It's probably just on airplane mode...he'll call eventually."

I said. She sighed.

"I guess...do you guys know where your rooms are?"

We all shook our heads. She got up and gestured for us to follow. We picked up our stuff and followed.

We went down a few hallways and she opened a door.

"Nico's room."

I walked in and dropped my bags. The door closed behind me and I got changed.

Sweatpants are so much better than skinny jeans. I climbed into the bed and instantly fell asleep.

A few hours later, or so I'm assuming, there was a knock on the door and someone walked in.

A.N.: Finally updated! Happy New Year everyone...also this is chapter 40! So that's cool....we still have like a lot more months to cover in the is book tho, so it's gonna be a long ride....anyway R&R!
