~

He woke around noon, and he was barely awake.

I understood what Apollo said about getting used to it.

He blinked a few times, disoriented. "... What...." his voice tilted to the side as if he was drunk. He shook his head hard. "Time...."

"Go back to sleep." I said quickly.

He didn't protest. He immediantly fell back asleep, snoring. The tension had gone away, and he seemed like he was actually sleeping for once. Someone knocked on the door and I opened it to see Annabeth. She looked around to see Percy sleeping soundly. She smiled.

"He looks better."

I nodded.

She sat next to him and held his hand.

"... He won't get better, right?"

I didn't say anything for a moment.

"He has about a week. Maybe two."

She looked down. "It seems so surreal."

"I know."

She grabbed his hand with both hands.

"Victor. Can we try to smile before he... Leaves?"

"Can you?"

"I know Percy wants it."

I sighed. "We can try. But it won't work that well."

"We can always greive when he's sleeping."

"Let's just not think of it."

Her gray eyes met mine. They stormed and whirled in them.

"All I can do is think."

"Figure out your own problems." I snapped. "I'm trying to make Percy as comfortable as possible."

Her eyes fell back down to the floor.
"Fine."

I went out of the door, irritated with Annabeth. I didn't know why Percy liked her. I sighed. I didn't know why Reyna liked me. I walked away from the room. I should get Percy his breakfast. I grabbed myself a bowl of cereal and ate slowly.

"Hey."

Lee sat next to me. He had his bow and arrow- maybe to shoot some bacon. He smiled.

"Hows Percy."

"Apollo came by this morning."

"Really? Dad did?"

I nodded, stuffing a spoonful of cheerios into my mouth. I wished they would cheer me up somehow, but it didn't seem to work.

"Huh. I haven't seen him in a while."

I nodded absentmindedly.

"Anyway, how's Percy?"

"So so."

"Really? I thought I might go see him today."
