I wonder...

I get the feeling that we were seeing a glimpse of Natemare in Salvaged.

Either that or I'm being heavily influenced/inspired by ask-natemare on tumblr. Their Natemare is so beautifully three dimensional that he's more than just a sadistic monster.

He's literally human.

Abandoned by one he thought he could trust.

Kept in a void of complete sensory deprivation that would drive anyone clinically insane.

It's only natural that he'd want revenge but he's also very kind.

Almost like regular Nate.

He's showing others, namely Miss Kayleigh, the loyalty and friendship he never had.

Idk, he's just such a wonder of storytelling that I'm genuinely in awe.

Whereas my interpretation of Natemare is born of rage and vengeance, this one was born out of a little boy's want for a friend.

He's an imaginary friend that developed his own consciousness and tried to impress Nate.

An imaginary friend who overestimated himself and made a little mistake that got him locked away.

Idk, I just love him. He's so well written that I'm in love with his very soul.
