Choice: Wait for Josh outside the mine.

I have to trust him... He'll come back, he has to!

I gripped my side and gritted my teeth as I stood there in the blustery cold, awaiting his appearance. Several minutes passed and I began to lose hope of his survival, until he suddenly staggered out from the depths of the mine.

"Josh!" Happy tears streamed down my face as he approached me; once in reach, he pulled me into his arms and rested his head on my shoulder.

"You're alright... We're alright." He let out a nervous laugh and tightened his grip on me. "Let's get the hell out of here." He let me go, only to suddenly kneel down in front of me. "...Get on my back. You're in no shape to walk."

I couldn't disagree with him -- my side was aching and I was beginning to feel dizzy from the bloodloss. I carefully climbed onto his back and wrapped my arms around his neck; he slipped his arms under my legs and stood up. I rested my head on his shoulder as he carried me, and I muttered sweet nothings into his ear. Not only did it help calm us down, but it allowed us some peace and tranquillity -- it reminded us that everything would be alright, because we had each other.
We found ourselves standing before the lodge, which was now burning brilliantly in orange flames. The others were here as well, all safe and sound. I couldn't stop my thoughts from traveling back to Jessica, who was in a better place now, as we watched the helicopters circle overhead -- we were saved.

[Third Person]

Chris and Courtney entered the hospital, standing patiently in the entryway as they awaited their friend's arrival. They were there to pick him up -- he was finally being released, after three months of receiving constant help.

When he stepped through the door dressed in his usual flannel and jeans, the two siblings had to keep back their tears. They had been there through everything, helping him through his heartbreaking endevour -- and now here he was, free in a much better state of mind.

"Hey, lady and germ." He grinned as he approached his two closest friends, arms slightly outstretched. "Miss me?"

She wasn't able to hold it back any longer; she let her tears fall as she ran into his welcoming embrace. He let out a light-hearted chuckle as she sobbed in his arms, and he grinned at Chris from over her shoulder. She suddenly pulled away, only to peer up into his beautiful hazel orbs. Unlike the other times, he leaned in and kissed her first; their lips molded together perfectly, similar to puzzle pieces. When they finally parted, he smiled down at her warmly.

"Y'know, I've been meaning to tell you for a while now..." He chuckled sheepishly and moved his hands to rest on her waist. "I love you, Court."

Words couldn't begin to describe how happy she was to hear those words; for him, her smile said it all.

"I love you too, Josh."
