It wasn't long before I found myself lost in the expansive forrest of Blackwood Mountain. A wave of regret hit, remembering my harsh words towards my brother -- I pushed away the thought and focused on finding my way out. As upset as I was, if I ever wanted to apologize to him I needed to get out of here first.
I quickened my pace as I trekked through the snow, kicking up the white fluff with my sneakers. My gaze shifted when I heard a noise to my left, almost simillar to footsteps. I haulted all movement and focused on the area where the sound had come from. There was nothing there -- however, something else caught my eye.
The surrounding trees, my seemingly perfectly-placed footsteps behind me; the snowstorm began to worsen, limiting my visibility. This specific area -- it was exactly like the one in my vision. The only difference was… I wasn't dead, yet.
An animalistic scream sounded behind me, but I was frozen in fear.
Maybe it hasn't seen me…
I heard the crunching of snow, getting closer and closer until something appeared in my line of sight. To my right, there was a tall creature standing with long-limbs. It slowly moved past me, looking around as if it was clueless of my presence. I let out a small breath, and its head snapped in my direction.
Oh no, oh fuck no…
It turned in place and began to approach me, but it's gaze never met mine. There was only a foot of space between us when it stopped, baring it's sharp teeth and letting out a cry. At this point my heart was betting rapidly, to the point I could have sworn that the creature could hear it.
My panicked mind was telling me to run, but I had a feeling that if I moved I would end up proving the vision correct. I didn't want to die, especially not out here in the wilderness where no one would find my body.
Hannah and Beth…
I bit my lip at the thought of the two missing girls, and I felt tears form. I didn't want to end up like them, I didn't want my death to be a mystery. I didn't want 'I hate you' to be my last words to Chris, and more than anything…
I didn't want to put Josh through the sadness and suffering again.
Please… Don't let me die here.
The creature backed away from me, which allowed me to calm down a little. It didn't know I was here, so I just needed to wait for it to leave. Increasing my bad luck, another one of the creatures suddenly jumped out from behind a tree, tackling the other one to the snowy ground. They wrestled around, growling and clawing at eachother, until suddenly there was a loud cry and one tore the other's head off, throwing it to the side. The victorious creature snarled, then picked up the head with one of it's massive hands. It grabbed the body with its free hand, then began to drag it away. Once it was out of sight, I collapsed onto my knees and covered my face with my hands.
"What the hell is happening here?" I whimpered. "First Josh, now these… these things." I began to shake my head, not wanting to believe anything that was happening. "T-This… this is a nightmare. This has to be. I just… I just fell asleep, during the ride here. That's all!" I pushed myself to my feet; my body was trembling in fear. "This has to be a nightmare… right?"

After walking through the stormy woods for what seemed like forever, I finally found a path -- but I had no clue where it led. As I walked the beaten path, I rubbed my hands together and blew a warm breath onto them. It was freezing out here, and my fingers with aching from the frigid cold.
"A nice, warm fire would be greatly appriciated." I muttered as I shoved my hands into my hoodie pocket. It didn't offer much protection from the harsh weather, but surely it was better than nothing. "Some hot cocoa as well."
The storm raged on, and I kept going. My body was losing warmth, and face felt numb, but I wasn't going to give up now. I trekked further through the mountain, until I came across a fallen tree that was blocking the path.
"I should be able to climb over..." Just as I readied myself to start climbing, I heard a scream off in the distance. I stood there for a moment, listening closely. There was another scream, followed by yelling. I couldn't quite comprehend what they were saying, but it didn't matter. After watching Josh die, and seeing that god-aweful creature, I wanted to stay away from trouble.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." I shook my head and sprinted in the other direction, away from the screaming -- back the way I came. I knew it was cold-hearted of me to run away when someone needed my help, but… I couldn't. I just couldn't.
Please… whoever you are, please forgive me.
