Even after putting on my shoes and Josh's beanie, Chris still didn't want me to leave. I ignored his protests and left, focusing on Josh's well-being and safety. I shoved my hands into my hoodie pocket and pulled up my hood to help protect me against the cold winds from the harsh storm.

"Fuck, it's cold..." I hadn't even been outside for five minutes and yet my cheeks and nose had already began to feel numb. My ears, slightly covered by my hair and hood, were starting to feel numb as well. It seemed as if the further I walked up the path, the colder it became. The storm raged on, never losing its intensity, to the point that I quickened my pace. I knew that it wouldn't be safe to be out here much longer -- and every second I wasted would be another chance for someone to take advantage of Josh's vunerability.

The storm offered little visibility, everything in front of me being blurred by the rapidly falling snow. Proving my point, my foot caught on something and I suddenly went tumbling forwards into the white fluff. My once warm, dry clothes became covered in snow. As I pushed myself up off of the ground, I found that it was a totem that I had tripped over.

"I don't have the time to stop."

Instead, I picked it up from the ground and began walking once again. I inspected the totem as I walked, though I ignored the front and turned it over. It had the same butterfly as the others, only this one had a red outline. I felt a little light-headed as I was forced into a dream-like state.

Mike stood facing Josh, with a gun in hand. Someone suddenly hit him on the back of the head with the blunt-end of a tool; suddenly a gunshot was heard and blood splattered.

"...I don't- I don't understand." I dropped the totem before sprinting through the path -- I wasn't exactly sure what had happened in the vision, but I had a gut feeling that it was me who had hit Mike.

However...did he shoot Josh, or me?

By the time I had reached the building that Mike and Josh were in, nearly my whole body was numb. I could barely feel my hands and feet, and my face was completely numb. My hands were so cold that it hurt, and the pain was spreading slowly through my body.

"Wha-What the hell are you doing here?" Mike clicked the safety on and tucked the gun into his back pocket, seemingly focused on my presence. Josh's eyes were glued to me, but he wasn't saying anything -- he was only wearing a grin.

"Thanks for the welcome, asshole..." I took a few steps forward before unexpectedly collapsing; my body was exhausted from the extreme cold. Mike had caught me before I could hit the cement floor, and he was supporting me in his arms.

"Hey, hey! What's the problem, bro?" I could make out Josh's voice, but it sounded different.

"She's fucking freezing!" Mike was holding me close to him, which was both comfortable and uncomfortable. The warmth was welcomed, but the fact that it was him holding me made me uneasy. I would've been happier with Chris or Josh, or even Sam or Emily or Matt. Mike was the last person I wanted to be near, at the moment. I was still pretty pissed at him for hitting me earlier, whether it was an accident or not.

"G-Get away from m-me, Mike." I used what little strength I had left to push myself away from him, prefering the cold floor.

"You're going to get sick if you don't warm up, Courtney." He pulled me back to him, but this time I didn't resist. My body was freezing, which was making me extremely tired. I didn't have the strength to fight with him, so I just stayed there and slowly warmed up. My gaze focused on Josh, who didn't look pleased in the slightest.

"Mike! Mike, Mike, Mike!" Josh began pulling at his restraints behind his back. "Let me go, man. Let me warm her up." He looked genuinely concerned for a moment, but soon let out a child-like laugh. "Maybe we can-- we can have a little fun, if you know what I mean? Warm up the whole room-"

"That's fucking sick, asshole! She's a minor!" If there was any chance of Mike untying Josh, it was certainly gone now. As the feeling started to come back to my hands and feet, I placed my hands together and began rubbing them to create friction. Once the majority of my body was once again warm, I forced Mike to get away from me -- of course, I did thank him.

"Josh, are you alright?" I knelt down beside him and stared worriedly into his hazel eyes.

"I'm all good, all good." He laughed a little and looked over at Mike, then looked back at me. His gaze, his laugh, his words -- they all seemed different. It was as if he wasn't the same Josh I had known all my life -- as if he was now just a stranger wearing a familliar face.
