And so, we went searching for the library. It didn't take too long, thankfully, but we ended up finding some of Hannah's belongings. When I had picked up her glasses case, an over-whelming feeling of sadness washed over me. I missed her -- there was no use denying it.

"Hm. Damnit." Ashley tried opening a door, but it wouldn't budge. We made our way into the next room, but something felt strange. To confirm my suspicions, just as I walked in front of the bookcase several books came flying off, smacking me in the head and shoulder.

"Shit! Shit, man, what the heck was that?" I cowered away from the bookshelf, rubbing my stinging shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Chris asked worriedly as he eyed me. I nodded slowly, still a bit shaken by the sudden attack.

"Yeah, uh, yeah..." I knelt down to pick up one of the books. It was just a random novel, seemingly untouched in years.

"Hey, uh... guys, look." Ashley pointed to the place where the books once were; there was a silver button shining slightly in the dim candlelight.

"That's an odd place to put a button..." I grumbled as I stood, my arms wrapped around my torso in a hug-like manner.

"Well..." Ashley reached forward and hesitated for a moment before pressing the button. There was an unlocking sound, and bookshelf started to move.

"Panel opens," Chris peeked into the opening space. "Head explodes."

"Are we like, in a movie right now?" Ashley glanced at Chris questioningly, and he shrugged.

"If we are, I hope it's a rom-com."
I couldn't help but to chuckle at his comment, and I made the decision to go in first.

"Leave it to the Washington's to have secret passages in their house." Ashley followed me in, glancing around. It wasn't a very big room, but it was definately very eerie. I walked to the left, spotting a photograph on a nearby shelf.

"Oh..." I picked up the photo of two familliar girls, Beth and Hannah. I could clearly see the tattoo of a butterfly that Hannah had on her upper arm. With a small smile, I turned over the picture to see if there was a date on the back.

"Wh-what?" There was crimson writing on the back, almost looking like blood. The letters were scratchy, but readable.

I WILL TAKE THEM AND BLEED THEM LIKE PIGS AND RIP THEIR
SOFT WHITE SKIN OFF! FUCKING
16 YEARS. 16 YEARS I WAITED
FOR PRETTY LITTLE
HANNAH AND BETH

"Chris..." I turned around, hesitantly allowing Ashley to take the picture from my hands. "What is that? Why... who would've..?" I stepped towards my brother and rested my head against his chest, trying to take everything in.

Why would someone write that? Why would they want to hurt Hannah and Beth?

"Holy cow..." I assumed Ashley had shown him the picture. "Man, that's morbid."

"Guys, this is serious. We need to find Josh right now." Ashley was begining to sound scared again -- I didn't blame her. Chris placed his hand on my shoulder and gently moved me away from him, as if saying that we cant just stand around.

"You're right, Ash. Let's go."

We back-tracked into the main room of the library, though we stopped when there was a sudden creaking noise.

"Uhh, what was that?"

As we investigated the noise, we found that the door that had been locked before was now open wide, as if inviting us in. We traveled down the hall, found a note from Josh's mother about some Native American Tribe, and then continued onwards. However, once we entered the next room, Chris suddenly stopped.

"What? Is something wrong?"
He brought up a wanted poster that he and Sam had seen earlier, then mentioned a voicemail that he had heard about some guy getting out of jail.

"So, there's some criminal up here with us?" I raised in eyebrow, not quite believing what he was trying to tell us.

"I don't know, but... we should keep an eye out." Ashley and I both agreed, which seemed to put Chris at ease.

Suddenly, the nearby doors started rattling, as if someone from the other side was trying to open them.

"Could that be Josh?" Ashley hurried over to the door and opened it a little, peeking inside.

"Wait, Ash-" I reached out for her, but it was too late. She let out a scream as she was suddenly pulled into the room, and the door was slammed shut.

"Ash!" Chris and I hurried to the door and grabbed the doorknobs, but they wouldn't budge. As Chris tried desperately to open the door, I could hear the cries from Ashley on the other side. I heard a thud, and worry overwhelmed me.

"Ashley?!" I banged my fists against the wooden door, hoping that she would answer.

"Ash! Ash, are you okay?" Chris slammed his shoulder against the door, and I could tell that he was really worried.

"I'm..." He shouldered the door again. "Gonna..." Just as he went to slam his shoulder against the door it flew open, making him tumble to the ground.

"Chris!"

"Ugh..."

I ran into the room, only to see Chris get punched across the face and fall limply to the ground. Laying not too far away from him was Ashley, either unconscious or dead, I couldn't tell.

"Oh my god..." My gaze fell on a masked man standing before me, watching me much like a scientist would its specimen. "Wh-Who are you?" I started backing up; my gaze shifted from the masked man to my brother, then back to the masked man. When he didn't answer me, my mind was forced to make a decision -- Fight or Flight?

Naturally, I chose flight. Since he was too close to the door that I came through, I darted to the left, heading for the door on the other side of the room. I didn't even get halfway there when suddenly I was grabbed, and a scream escaped my throat.

"Let me go!" I cried as I thrashed in the man's arms, trying to get free. I gasped as a cloth was placed firmly over my mouth and held in place; an odd scent set off an alarm-signal in my mind and I started thrashing more violently. Despite my struggling the man was able to keep me in place, forcing me to give in as the scent coaxed my mind into a slumber. As I drifted out of consciousness, a familliar voice spoke to me.

"Don't worry -- you're alright."
