"Niall," I whispered to my sleeping boyfriend. "Ni?", I said again, but he didn't hear me because he was asleep and the thunder outside was very loud. I bit my lip, trying to hold back the tears.
I had always been afraid of loud noises, especially thunder, but Niall didn't know that because I never wanted him to worry about me. Tonight, the thunder was really hard and the raindrops clattered against the window of the bedroom I shared with my boyfriend.
Again I said his name while shaking his shoulder. In a few seconds he opened his eyes. "(YN), babe?", he said in a sleepy, raspy voice. "Why aren't you asleep, princess?" "I can't sleep, Niall... It's the thunder.", I answered. Niall chuckled softly while shoving closer to me. "Are you afraid?", he asked worriedly. Slowly I nodded my head. "Yes, I have always been..." Niall let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry, I didn't know that." "It's okay.", I said back. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to his warm body. I buried my face into his bare chest while he rubbed my lower back. "I'll protect you,", he said into my hair. "don't be scared, princess."
