"No"
"Sarah?"
"No"

We went on and on. Until eventually Loki said "Gabriella?" You sat up straight "Yes! I love that name!" I said. "This is so excited! Let's choose a middle name!" Loki said. You giggled at his excitement and leaned back.

You did the same thing as before, coming up with a name and then deciding yes or no. "What about Grace?" You asked after a while. "Yeah! That's adorable!" Loki said. "Great, now we've got her full name!" You said very excited. Loki grinned and kissed you. "Gabriella Grace Lokisdottir" You said, smiling down at your stomach.

"Is everything okay my queen?" Loki asked for the thousandth time. "Yeah, everything's just...fine" you said. Even as you heard the words come out of your mouth you didn't believe them for a second. Of course you were happy, you were going to have a beautiful baby girl. But still, you could feel something was wrong; and you were often right about this stuff. "Just a few more months, and then our beautiful Gabriella will be here" said Loki, kissing you. You couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, I know. It's just...something doesn't seem right. I feel off" you said. Loki looked at you worriedly. "I doubt it's serious. It's probably just something all mothers go through" he said trying to reassure you. "I still want to make sure...for the baby...that everything's okay" you said. Loki nodded and put down his book. "Okay" he said, bending down so he could look into your eyes. Loki helped you into the car and, with you instructing him how to drive because he just couldn't get the hang of it, drove you to the doctors. He made an appointment and in twenty minutes you were laying on the bed preparing to take an ultrasound.

"What is it that feels wrong?" The doctor asked. You sighed "Well that's the thing, I don't know! Something just doesn't feel right." you said. The doctor frowned and said "So many soon to be mothers feel like something's wrong at some point but we'll check it out anyway!" You nodded your thanks and Loki squeezed your hand. The doctor proceeded with the ultrasound as you kept a tight hold on Loki's hand. The doctor's face told you something was wrong. He cleaned up your stomach and told the two of you to sit down at his desk.

"I'm afraid I have some bad news." the doctor said. You felt your heart drop. "Your baby has an obvious disability and there's nothing you can do to fix it, but it is not life threatening. I'm sorry to tell you but your child, is missing a leg. The only reason I can think of is maybe the mix of your genetics." Your doctor was a friend of Loki's and knew of his origins so you trusted his knowledge.

Loki was out the door before the doctor had a chance to finish. You stared after him, tears falling down your face uncontrollably.

The car ride home was unbearable. Loki just stared at the road and you continued to cry. It was silent. As soon as you got back you got out of the car and ran up to the house. Loki just sat in the car, staring straight ahead. For one and a half weeks there was silence. No one spoke, no one laughed, no one smiled. You never saw Loki. He would just lie in bed. All you would ever say to him was "goodnight" and "good morning". All he would do was stare at the wall. His skin blue and his body skinny. He never ate or slept.

When you finally had enough you walked upstairs to your room. "Loki. Look at me" you said. When he didn't answer you walked over to him and sat down in front of him. It was then he burst into tears. He threw his arms around you and sobbed.

"Y/N this is all my fault. I did this to our child. I'm a monster" he wept. You stroked his hair and hushed him.

"Loki. This is not your fault. Gabby...she's just special. It doesn't matter if she's got two legs or one. We will love her the same either way. She's our daughter. Our little girl...and nothing will ever change that" you said soothingly. Loki shook his head.

"I ruined her life before it even began" he sobbed. You pulled him away from you and looked into his eyes which were red whenever he was in his frost giant form.

"You know what, shit happens. Stuff always happens to screw with us. We just have to move on. Find a new way around it and make the most of what we get. Loki, Gabriella will have a beautiful life. She'll be beautiful and do you want to know how I know?" You asked. Loki nodded, tears still steaming down his face. "Because she has the best father in the world. One that will do anything for her. She's going to be okay. We all are" you said.

Loki started to calm down, his skin turning slowly back to normal. "I'm terribly sorry my love" he said. You shook your head and kissed him. "I love you Loki" you whispered. He smiled. "As do I. I love me" he said and you laughed.

He gently placed his hand on your stomach. "But there is nothing I love more...not even myself then you two. Y/N I love you and Gabriella more than words" he said. You smiled as you felt Gabriella kick.

Labour || Holding your baby - Written by Fluffersnaps
You sat down in front of the TV and stared blankly at the screen. Loki wasn't here, he had been gone for three days now after a big fight. He was speaking about trying to take over the world again, and you made sure to voice your opinion. He had promised not to do anything while you were pregnant but being the god of mischief, you should never have believed him. He had known that for a day and a half you'd been having back and stomach pains and they'd only been getting worse, and it felt like he didn't care.

"Y/N! Stop being so dramatic!" He had yelled at you. You were sitting at the dinner table enjoying a nice pork roast when he had told you about his plans. "No Loki! I won't! You promised!" You had yelled back with tears in your eyes. "I said I'd be there for the baby's birth, nothing more" Loki said. You stood up furiously. "Typical. Go take over the damn world. I don't care. You'll fail, I know you will!" You had yelled storming to your room and locking the door. You could hear him knocking outside. "Y/N. Please, I'm sorry." he begged but you were sick of it. You fell on the bed and cried. The next morning you woke up and he was gone. You hadn't seen him since; you refused to call or text him.

So now you sit, the TV showing a rerun of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, you never liked that show but you decided to watch it anyway. You missed Loki too much to care anymore. That's when you felt it. A gush of liquid running down your leg and staining your pants.

"Oh god" you muttered turning off the TV as an awful pain consumed you. You couldn't help but let out a yelp of pain. You quickly picked up the phone and dialled Loki; you had taught him how to use the phone only a few months ago. He surprisingly picked up on the first ring. He sounded horrible.

"Y/N?" He asked, his voice soft and broken. "Loki! Where the hell are you?!" You said trying to keep your voice normal. That's when you heard Thor in the background and knew he was at Jane and Thor's house. "I--" he started before you cut him off. "It doesn't matter. My water just broke. Loki, the baby is coming NOW!" You yelled as another contraction started. "I'm coming home" he said and hung up. You decided to lie down and so that's what you did. Every time a new contraction started you would groan squeeze the bed sheets. Finally the door burst open and Loki ran to you. "Are you okay? Is the baby okay?" Loki asked frantically. You nodded once as you realised something...this baby was coming now and there was nothing you could do to stop it. You quickly removed your pants as Loki just stared at you.

"There's no time for the hospital. This baby's coming now!" You said. Loki nodded and moved next to you. "What do you want me to do?" He asked. Thankfully you had been a midwife once before and knew what to do. "I need you to support the baby when it comes" you pant. Loki stares at you in disbelief. "You mean...I'll have to look? And...uh...touch it?" He asked. You squeezed the bed sheets and yelled. "LOKI! STOP BEING SUCH A LITTLE GIRL AND HELP ME DAMN IT!" You yelled. Whatever doubts and fears he had seemed to vanish and he nodded. Soon it was time to push. It was the most horrible and painful three hours of your life. But soon you could hear the cries of your baby in Loki's arms.

"Y/N. It's...beautiful" said Loki cradling your baby. You smiled as Loki cleaned it and passed it to you. You couldn't help but let a tear of joy slip as you cradled your child. Loki bent down and kissed you. "I love you so much...both of you" He said with a smile.
