CHAPTER 32

HANNAH

Nakaupo lang ako sa kama habang nakabalot sa aking katawan ang bathrobe. Ang sabi ni Apollo ay aalis lang ito sandali at may bibilhin. Kahit hindi ako tumingin sa salamin ay alam ko na hindi ako kagandahan ngayon ngunit wala na akong pakielam.

My eyes are still puffy due to excessive crying. I heard the door clicked and Apollo came in. He's holding paper bags while walking towards me.

"I bought clothes for you."

"Thank you." Malamig kong sabi.

Narinig ko ang pagbuntong-hininga nito at lumuhod sa aking harapan. His hands enveloped mine. "Hannah, I can't stay here for long."

"Go back to Manila then."

"Come with me." Panunuyo niya.

I shook my head. "No. I'll stay here."

"To the place where both of you lives? You think you can live here?"

"I don't know anymore."

"Come with me, I'll take care of you."

Tumawa ako ng pagak. "You? Take care of me? You can't even love me back then."

"This time is different."

"What makes it different, Apollo?" Binawi ko ang kamay na kanina pa niyo hawak. "Sabihin mo nalang kung ano ang plano mo sa akin para masabayan ko ang laro mo."

"Kailan pa ako nakipaglaro sa'yo, Hannah? I have been honest with you every time."

"I... I don't know what to believe anymore. I just want to be alone, please."

"Come with me. Let's go back in Luzon."

Umiling ako. "I have no one there."

"Adonis and Freya is there. I promise, you won't be alone if you come with me."

Nasulyapan ko ang engagement ring na binigay sa akin ni Harley. Bumalik ang mga alaala na masaya kami. "A part of me still want to fix my relationship with Harley."

"But you can't even if you want to. Hindi ikaw ang pinili, Hannah."

"I know, I know." Naghihirap kong sabi.

He cupped my cheeks, forcing me to meet his eyes, to show his sincerity. "Come with me. I'm not going to let you get through this alone."

"I... don't know, Apollo. I don't want to take the risk anymore."

"There is no risk—"

"Those are just words."

"Those are my words, Hannah. Tell me, have I ever lied to you?"

"You're going to hurt me too. I can't trust you." Hindi ko na napigilan ang pagluha dahil hindi pa rin matanggap ng puso ko ang lahat ng nangyari.

Umupo ito sa aking tabi at isinandal ang aking ulo sa dibdib nito. "Alam kong nahihirapan kang magtiwala, pero bigyan mo lang ako ng isang pagkakataon. You won't regret it, Hannah. So please, come back to me."

Walang lakas na tumango ako. Kung saan man patungo ang desisyon na ito ay hindi ko alam. If he wants me to come with him, then so be it.
