Belladonna
It didn't take me long to find a new job and it was something I kind of enjoyed... I mean it involved alcohol every now and again so who am I to complain, I'm sure my drinking habits got worse after everything, I decided to work in a bar mostly late nights, a little out of the city which means no Daniel. Turns out Lyra is serious about her man and she is ready to settle down so I decided it was best for me to move out which I did now I'm out of the city away from most of the society.
I'm sure even Daniel is settling down him and maya have being in the tabloids more often than none, I knew it was to good to be true but hell who am I, It's being more a few months and I haven't seen him and I'm glad. ''Hey Bella customer table eight wants you get going'' my boss sprung up behind me causing me to jump out my skin. ''jesus christ Ryan what have I said about sneaking up on me'' I clutched on my heart before walking away chuckling to myself.
''hiya sir, how can I help you'' I give customers a bigger grin than most people, I don't rely on tips but hey it's always worth a shot. ''sir? girl please shut the fuck up'' Nate laughed hiding behind a magazine. ''Nate!!'' we both squealed like little girls, we haven't seen each other since that night, I packed up and left soon after and failed to mention it if I'm honest. ''How are you are you doing okay?'' He looked worried. ''Hey don't give me that look you haven't given me it in years.. I am clean'' A wee while back I hit a dark place it usually happened on my parents death anniversary or at least around that time. Yes I hurt myself always in placed people couldn't see or notice but the scars are there clear as day, it's apart of my past and apart of who I am and I am not ashamed but I have being clean for two years. I promised my parents I wouldn't do it again, I want them to be peaceful up there.
''Okay good I'm sorry I was just worried'' I gave him a hug before grabbing him some shitty bar food. we spoke for a while, Course he had to go as the drive was a little long back to the city, we said our goodbyes and just like that I was alone again.
A few hours had passed and finally it was the rowdy night to deal with last, most of the drunks here are okay their is a small gang of hooligans but they couldn't fight their way through a plastic bag so they don't cause much trouble. When a bar fight does happen that shit is fun as hell I've only being in one but that wasn't actually my fault I tried to stop some cat fight and got dragged in it.
I smiled to myself about that little memory I was banged up pretty bad, small scar was on my cheek after it, first ever battle scar. Since then I tend not to break up fights unless they get really bad. Most of the night was slow, serving drinks and getting some banter with the customers, I usually sit at a table with the regulars every now and again if they buy me a drink.
''Hey Bella as always you're looking great'' the 80 year old regular attempts to flirt with me a lot but I think he's just being playful since his wife passing, I don't think it's flirting at all. ''Not to bad yourself there john, how you holding up?'' I help him to his usual spot and I take a seat across from him. ''A little bit down today its my late wife's death anniversary today so I went to see her, and it's like she drew a picture for me in the sky she looked beautiful''
God I wish I had that sort of love even after her death he's still faithful and thinks she beautiful in the sky. ''John what is the secret to love, what do I have to do to get what you had'' I groaned into the table and all I got was a laugh. ''Sweetheart when I was your age I was in the same boat as you, I had no idea what I was doing when it came to love if anything I was a play boy'' He whispered giving me a weak wink I couldn't help but chuckle once again.
''John you little stud'' He laughed a little longer before quieting down, ''honestly, all I can say is communication is the biggest thing but not only that if you communicate you have to be willing to listen you can't just say something and do nothing.. took me a while to realise that myself but Iris. my world she taught me how to love her correctly and love myself at the same time'' He cleared his throat taking a small sip of his whiskey. ''Love conquers all, in the end love is the one thing nobody can take from you, I see you've had your heart broken already but you don't seem over him'' He read me like a book flicked through my pages and that's it that's all he had to do.
''How did y-'' he chuckled once again ''once you finish your time in the military you learn to read a lot of folk'' I gave him a smile before standing up, ''No I'm not over him but he's over me'' Just as I was about to walk away he grabbed onto my wrist gently, ''Bella dear you cant love and not fight you need to fight for love that's the only way it'll work your generation is to quick to quit.'' he let me go shooing me away.
His words played in my head for a while, near enough the whole night if anything. I could hear glass smash in the background taking me away from my daze. Here we go a great finish to a night, It didn't take long for some sort of brawl to break out typically if something like this happens in the city you stop it but out here... nope. In the end everyone's happy next morning.
Glass was thrown towards be just barely missing my face before smashing behind me, well that's definitely enough of that. I stood up on the bar before attempting to shout ''Enough yo-'' Fuck just happened. Before I knew it I was on the floor with some woman sat on top of me yanking the shit out of my hair, everyone can have a brawl but when you go for staff it's an instant no.
She was pretty drunk all I had to do was thrust my hips in the air which threw her off me completely, she got up pretty quick before coming back at me, that's when I realised who the fuck it was.
maya.
