1. What is your favourite colour?
That’s a tough one. I’m probably just going to go crazy cliché and say blue. Like a really specific kind of sky mixed with darker blue. Actually, pretty much the color of my room in my old house. So yeah I’m a little nostalgic.
2. Who is your all time favourite musician/band?
I’m a massive music buff, so asking my favorite all time is like physically painful for me to pick. But if I could only listen to one artist for the rest of my life, it would be Gabrielle Aplin. I don’t even know what it is about her. She’s just so raw and original and her songs are absolutely brilliantly written. I like that she does it all—she plays, she has a stunning voice, and she’s a fantastic songwriter. And she’s my age, which is crazy and relatable and I wish I could be her. (mainly because her boyfriend is gorgeous.)
3. How'd you find out about Wattpad?
It was getting to that time in my life where I was really looking for a way to share my work with people, and I didn’t want to share it with people I knew. I kind of stumbled upon Wattpad, and I fell in love with it. It took me about three months to actually get an account, but I’m so glad I did it’s been fantastic
4. Did you ever imagine yourself to be this popular on Wattpad?
I don’t really think I’m that popular, considering I only have like 170 fans or whatever. But my one story, Stillness of Heart, is creeping up in reads so I guess I’ve been successful with that one. But no, I really wasn’t sure if anyone was going to read. So thinking of all those people who have at least read my work—love it or hate it—is a little staggering and so massively encouraging for me as an author.
5. Are you currently reading a book/novel?
I’ve been reading Catch 22 for a while. Honestly, I could read that story over and over again; it’s probably the fifth time I’ve read it. It’s just absolutely perfect, as far as a satirical piece goes. That, and I read the DRIVE script probably once a week because it’s utterly beautiful.
6. Who was your favourite author during your childhood?
I used to be a massive fan of Robert Munch. I just seriously loved him. But as an adult—I’m kind of aging myself here aha—but I don’t know, I really liked Anthony Horwitz and his Alex Ryder series.
7. Any pets, what are their names?
I have a bulldog named Mumba. Don’t ask me why I named him Mumba, I’m still not 100% sure of why myself.
8. Any books on Wattpad you recommend we try out that you have read?
I’ve read so much great stuff on Wattpad. But I would say you’re good to go with pretty much anything by @ToastedBagles or @Leigh_. And @elle23, @BrighterDreams, anyone I follow is worth checking out ☺.
9. Are any of your characters based on yourself or someone you know?
All of my characters to an extent are based on someone I know or people I’ve met. I feel like its just a lot more relatable if you’re familiar with what you’re writing about. But Kaylie Hampton, from my story Flow, is definitely the character most based off my. She’s kind of got some traits that are very much like me. So if you hate her, then…I guess you kind of hate me too aha, in some weird way.
