seventy-five days with a dumb cop (I fell inlove with him)

It's 11:48 p.m. Beomgyu's lying on his bed in a soft pajama set, hair messy, legs swaying in the air like he's a second lead in a  flashback. The only light in the room is the soft blue glow from his laptop screen. Tucked under his arm is Bamgeut—the plush Maltese Yeonjun gave him when he got sick.

He stares up at the ceiling, sighs, and mutters to himself.

"uncuffed me in front of my parents... unbelievable. Dumb. Hot. Ugh."

Then—thud.

He freezes.

Another thud. Then a scraping noise. And a muffled "Ow!" just outside his window.

He bolts upright.

"No freaking way—" he whispers.

Clink. The window creaks open slowly.

And there he is. Yeonjun's windblown face appears, hair sticking out under a hoodie, one leg dangling off the roof, the other stuck in a bush.

"Heyyy, room service?" he grins.

Beomgyu yanks him inside like a reflex. "ARE YOU INSANE?! My parents are here! They're not leaving! They're staying here for a week because they think I'm some kind of criminal mastermind now! My mom is downstairs! My dad still thinks you seduced me into felonies!"

Yeonjun shrugs, brushing dirt off his sleeves. "I mean, I kind of did. But I also made you smile in your mugshot, so I feel like that balances out."

Beomgyu glares. His ears turn red. Bamgeut slips off the bed and Yeonjun picks it up, holding it like he just won a prize.

"Still sleeping with Bamgeut, huh?"

"He bites," Beomgyu mutters.

"So do I," Yeonjun says, stepping a little closer—like a scene from a romance movie.

Beomgyu's whole system malfunctions. He shoves a pillow in Yeonjun's face. "You're banned from this house for a week."

Yeonjun flops onto the bed anyway. "I'm not in the house. I'm technically on it. Loophole."

Beomgyu groans. "Why are you even here? You're gonna get me grounded until my funeral."

Yeonjun finally quiets. His tone shifts.

"I just wanted to see you. Make sure you're okay. That... you're not regretting any of it."

Beomgyu hesitates. Then slowly walks over and sits beside him.

"I'm not," he says, voice low but sure. "Regretting any of it."

Yeonjun smiles—soft this time. He reaches out and taps his pinky gently against Beomgyu's. No big declarations. Just a quiet pinky promise in the dark.

"...Also," Yeonjun adds, "I brought snacks. I risked my life climbing your house. The least you could do is share a Choco Pie."

He pulls out a slightly squished snack pack from his hoodie pocket. Beomgyu sighs, takes it anyway, and tears it open.

They sit there, shoulder to shoulder, knees bumping, sharing stolen snacks and silence.

"Still dramatic, huh?" Beomgyu teases.

Yeonjun grins like it's a badge of honor. "Only for you."

"You're lucky I like dramatic."

But then—footsteps creak from downstairs.

Beomgyu throws Yeonjun off the bed with zero warning. He crashes to the floor with a muffled thud.

"HIDE!" Beomgyu hisses.

Yeonjun groans from under the bed. "You're literally feeding me crumbs and violence."

Beomgyu covers his mouth to stop from laughing just as his mom's voice calls from below.

"Beomgyu? Did I just hear something?"

"NO!" Beomgyu yells, sweating. "Just... praying! To be less criminal!"

There's a pause. She hums suspiciously, then walks away.

Beomgyu leans over the edge of the bed, meeting Yeonjun's eyes.

"You're insane," he whispers.

Yeonjun smirks. "And you're in love with me."

Beomgyu flushes scarlet but mutters back, "Go home before I kiss you, you menace."

Yeonjun grins. "That's not a threat, that's a promise."
