The gang is still in holding.
Beomgyu is half-asleep on Taehyun's shoulder. Sunoo and Sunghoon are playing tic-tac-toe on the wall with a stolen paperclip. Lia is humming Super Shy like it's the national anthem. The air smells like regret, teenage sweat, and banana chips.
Then—chaos arrives.
The front door slams open with the force of divine punishment.
Beomgyu's mom storms in first, wrapped in a pink pajama set, fluffy slippers slapping against the floor, radiating the kind of rage that could end nations. Behind her is Beomgyu's dad, hands in his pockets, carrying the tired look of a man who's raised one too many drama queens.
Trailing behind:
—Sunoo's mom, toting a snack bag big enough to supply a war.
—Taehyun's grandma in a full hanbok, ready to swing a ladle.
—Lia's mom with a slipper in hand and vengeance in her eyes.
—Sunghoon's dad. Stoic. Disappointed.
—Heeseung's dad wielding a belt like it's a family heirloom.
—And Yeji's dad. Silent. Judging. Breathing violence.
Behind the desk, Yeonjun shoots upright. His hair is a mess from his nap in the supply closet. His eyes go wide—like a deer caught mid-crush confession.
Beomgyu's mom marches to the counter. "Excuse me? Where is my son? And don't even try to hide him—I know he's here. Beonjun called us—Yawnjan, whatever his name is."
Beomgyu's dad squints. Then leans in.
"Wait... you."
Beomgyu's mom narrows her eyes too. "Aren't you the guy who cuddled my son on our couch last month? Said you were 'young at heart'? The one who claimed he was twenty-one, but turns out you're twenty-eight?"
Yeonjun freezes like Elsa just ice-blasted him point-blank.
He lets out an awkward laugh. "Guilty. But like... in a wholesome way?"
Beomgyu's dad crosses his arms. "Son. What kind of black magic did you put on my child?"
"No black magic, sir. Just... love. And maybe a PowerPoint presentation."
Beomgyu's dad exhales the sigh of a man whose taxes aren't the worst thing in his life anymore. "I raised that boy for nineteen years. He's never even left his socks outside. Suddenly he's in jail, faking crimes with his friends—for a confession?"
Yeonjun rubs the back of his neck. "Technically... he caused a city-wide disturbance, participated in public mischief, faked an emergency, and blocked traffic with barricades."
Sunoo's mom, beaming: "That's my boy."
Yeji's dad glares. She immediately hides behind Lia.
"But," Yeonjun adds, "he also confessed his love to me. That should count for something, right?"
Beomgyu's mom: "Awww!"
Beomgyu's dad: "NO."
There's a collective sigh from the parents. Then Lia's mom steps forward like she's leading a PTA meeting.
"We'll pay the charges. All of them. We're bailing the babies out."
Sunoo's mom's already unzipping her coin purse. "Can I pay with snacks?"
Officer Soobin sips iced coffee behind the desk. "No, ma'am."
Hueningkai peeks out from the hallway. "We'll take PayMaya, though."
After a dramatic round of lectures, crying (thanks to Yeji's dad's silent death glare), and general parental disappointment, the squad is released.
Beomgyu shuffles out of the holding cell in Yeonjun's hoodie. His hair's a mess. His eyes are half-lidded. He looks like a raccoon who's been through emotional warfare.
He glances at his mom, ashamed. "You didn't have to come."
She shushes him. "I always come when someone lies about their age and cuddles my son."
Yeonjun offers Beomgyu a bottle of water and a weak smile that says please still love me?
"At least you didn't bring handcuffs this time," Beomgyu's dad mutters.
Yeonjun winces. "About that—"
"Don't say it," Beomgyu warns.
Yeonjun grins. "Sorry babe. Had to cuff you. It was emotional. And... romantic."
Beomgyu throws a slipper at him.
Sunoo deadpans, "Can we go home now, or are we doing couple cosplay in jail?"
"This was so main character behavior," Lia adds.
"I helped you fake a felony," Taehyun says, elbowing Beomgyu. "You better marry that man."
"No. He better give us snacks for life," Yeji adds.
Everyone spills out in chaos, voices overlapping, laughter echoing into the night.
Beomgyu slows his steps until Yeonjun catches up beside him.
"...Thanks for calling them," he says softly, eyes still tired. "Even if I'm grounded until I'm thirty."
"Worth it," Yeonjun says with a grin. "You're officially mine now. That comes with perks... and possibly bail money."
Beomgyu rolls his eyes—but he's smiling, and he doesn't stop.
