The car pulled up to Beomgyu's house, and Yeonjun shifted nervously in the driver's seat, chewing on the inside of his cheek like it owed him money.

"I, um... I'll just wait until you get inside," Yeonjun mumbled, voice unsure.

Beomgyu didn't reply. He just opened the door, stepped out, and—

Did not slam it.

That was already a win.

Yeonjun blinked. Sat there. Watching.

Beomgyu walked up to the front door, pulled out his keys...

And then paused.

He stood there for a second, keys dangling in his fingers, head bowed like he was thinking. Or arguing with himself. Or both.

Then, with the softest sigh, he twisted the key, unlocked the door—

—and pushed it open halfway.

He didn't look back.

Just said, his voice flat,

"You coming or not?"

Yeonjun blinked so hard he forgot how to breathe. "Wait... seriously?"

No answer.

So he scrambled out of the car like a freaking cartoon character, slamming the door behind him and nearly tripping on his own feet to catch up. "I—I mean, yeah! Of course! Unless this is a trap. Are you gonna murder me inside?"

Beomgyu side-eyed him as he walked in. "You wish. I wouldn't waste the effort."

Yeonjun practically skipped in after him, grinning so wide his cheeks hurt.

The door clicked shut behind them.

And for the first time in days, Beomgyu didn't feel completely alone.

He dropped his bag on the couch, kicked off his shoes, and finally glanced back at the cop frozen awkwardly in the hallway like a boy on his first ever playdate.

"...Well?" Beomgyu said.

"Well...?"

Beomgyu rolled his eyes and threw a pillow at him. "Sit down, idiot."

Yeonjun caught it against his chest, stunned. "I'm the happiest idiot in the world right now."

"Shut up."

"I missed your living room. And your stupid plants. And your stupid parrot. And you. Mostly you."

"...I didn't say you could talk."

Yeonjun giggled.

And even though Beomgyu didn't smile... he didn't tell him to leave either.
