The flight show was amazing. The plane was fast as hell, Sonic didn't know they could fly that fast outside of the military. Tails really was an amazing genius. Sonic was positive he'd surpass Albert Einstein any day now.

"Sonic, I didn't know Tails had that part in his speech, it was so sweet," Mx Bex, Tails' engineering and mechanic teacher, smiled as the airshow finished and Tails was doing a check-in with the pilot about the flight, "The hair's cute by the way."

"Thanks," Sonic had an awkward smile. He had messily braided his quill for the festival. Tails warned him there would be a large crowd and he didn't want to risk poking someone, "Yeah, he's been wanting to call me mom. It's an adjustment. I'll get used to it eventually," I answered, "I thought it might just be something he would call me in private, but I guess he's more comfortable with the idea than I thought he was."

"You want to talk about it?" Mx Bex handed Sonic a can of soda as clean-up started with her students, and the audience moved on to other events. A few stayed for the Q&A with the older students.

"I feel like I use you as a therapist too often," Sonic let put a dry laugh, keeping an eye on Tails.

"I always offer. And I heard you recently kicked ass. Your bruises doing better?" They laughed, pointing to the bandage on Sonic's cheek.

"It looks worse than it is. It's mostly healed now, but it bothers Tails and Amy when I don't have them covered. I beat up my mate, the one who treated me like shit, when he apologized and insulted my boyfriend. We talked it out, and are trying for a polycule so Shadow chills out. He really wanted a second chance, so I decided I might as well let him try to actually be a partner."

"Yeesh, I don't know how I'd handle that. My partner is an omega, and I love them to death, but I don't know if I could share. It's taken a lot of work for me to accommodate that," They responded, "But hey, if it works out in the end and you three are happy, who cares what others think. You sound ready to make this situation work out, you should be proud of that."

"Yeah, thanks," Sonic smiled quickly before it faded, "I'm more worried about how Tails will take this. He's still just a kid."

"Kids are resilient. Just make sure he can talk to you. He sees you as a mom. Maybe leaning into that role will help to feel less awkward. You definitely should lean into your feminine looks more often. You'd look stunning with that hairstyle and a cute outfit. I bet your mates would find it attractive. Not that you aren't cute enough as is. You're just very androgynous and could pull off a lot more than jeans and a hoodie. Think about it. Thomas! Use gloves when cleaning oil damn it!" Mx Bex rushed off to deal with their students, leaving Sonic with his still very full soda can and their words.

"I could pull off more than just jeans?" Sonic muttered just before Tails came running with a bright smile.

"Sonic, did you like the show?" Tails beamed.

"It was amazing! Let's get your favorite to celebrate tonight. Mint ice cream with chocolate drizzle and peppermint crushed on top," Sonic smiled.

"Yeah!"

Monday Morning

There was whispering around the school when Infinite and Shadow arrived. Specifically about a very beautiful omega. Neither alphas cared; they had Sonic, and no one could compete against him to them. It was then that Sonic greeted them as they passed his classroom.

Infinites face was completely red as he was rendered speechless while standing in front of his beautiful mate, who had changed his usual spiked quills to a thick, messy braid that showed off the waviness he'd seen on their museum date.

Shadow was staring; the idea to look away hadn't even occurred to him. He'd seen Sonic's quills down, but never like this. The morning sun was gleaming against his sapphire fur.

"Um... guys? You okay?" Sonic spoke up, poking Infinite and Shadow who hadn't said a word, not even a hello, "Does it look that bad?"

"You're beautiful..." Infinite whispered.

Shadow snapped out of his daze, his cheeks flushing as he covered his mouth with his hand, "You should wear that style more often. It suits you."

"I wasn't sure if you'd think so. It's easier than gel, so maybe I will wear it like this more-" Sonic was cut off by the bell, "I gotta go. See ya at lunch!"

"Bye..." both Alphas mumbled, watching Sonic walk into the classroom.

Both stood, blissfully replaying the memory of Sonic's new appearance in their minds. Their thoughts lining up for just a moment.

I love him.
