It was done, finally, done. The first thing that hadn't burned, or been cold in the center, or raw somehow. I had followed the instructions and steps to a point. It was a simple spaghetti, and edible. It was a little bland; it didn't have the same burst of flavors as Sonic's food gave me, but I had still done it. I had cooked (with a canned sauce, but that's not important).

"I can't give this to him..." I sighed after eating my portion. It wasn't good enough to give to Sonic. The empty can of sauce was taunting me from the recycling bin as I cleaned up in frustration.

Next Day

"Amy, did you bake that!" Ray's voice was heard along with others who had surrounded Amy's desk. She was showing off a beautiful lace patterned pie on her phone.

"It's beautiful!"

"Did you bring some? I'd love to try it!"

"I couldn't bring much, Knuckles basically ate the whole pie before I was able to save a slice for Sonic and Tails. But I'll make another. Kneading the dough really helps get out some frustration. I'm actually planning on making some sourdough next," Amy continued chatting with her friends.

Kneading dough to help with frustration? Was bread something simple to make?

after school —

"Alright," I had all the ingredients. I put on a set of plastic gloves to avoid getting fur into the dough. "This doesn't seem as complicated as cooking..."

It quickly turned out Amy was rather insightful. Kneading the dough was satisfyingly stress-relieving. The bread even came out of the oven perfectly, and left my house smelling like a bakery. It was a success!

Finally, I could make something worthy to give to Sonic.

They were together again. Always together. Infinite would always find Sonic during class breaks, lunch, and after school. He never left Sonic's side, and Sonic always smiled at him. I wanted nothing more than for him to leave. Yet, Sonic never smiled that way around me... the gentle way he smiled at Infinite... I want him to smile at me like that too... The only smile I had left was the picture he sent me when I got him chili dogs.

Still, I would find a way to get Sonic alone.

It had been a great day for progress in the culture festival prep. The stand walls had been finished and would be assembled on site. They had the money to rent outdoor stoves for cooking, and most of the uniforms for the stand were done. The class insisted on sewing the aprons instead of buying them and embroidering them to match the stalls. It gave the girls who didn't cook something to do. They also had the idea to make some cute outfits and signs to draw attention to the stall.

As Sonic was one of the last students to leave the classroom, he was startled to find Shadow waiting for him instead of Infinite. Odd, Shadow had been ignoring Sonic for at least a month now.

"Sonic," Shadow called out to him, "I wanted to speak with you."

"Uh....sure," Sonic wasn't alone with him. There was a teacher nearby, "But we stay here."

"I wanted to apologize for my behavior. I shouldn't have taken advantage of your situation. Here," Shadow held out the plastic bag which held a piece of his homemade cake with pain frosting inside.

"You bought me cake to apologize?" Sonic deadpanned, not impressed.

"I didn't buy it-"

"You stole cake?!"
