It Started on Lazy Day

Part 22

PoV: Sonic

"And done," I smiled as I finished up Tails' special bento for his field trip, "That should give him plenty of energy."

"Shoot, I gotta go!" Tails ran downstairs with his field trip bag, "Sonic? I thought today would be a lazy day?"

"It will. The nurse called me to make sure I didn't come into school today..." I handed him two bentos.

"Isn't this too big for a lunch?" Tails looked up at me.

"Your box is your lunch today. But you were going to run out without breakfast. My box is just onigiri. Their all different flavors. You can have some for breakfast on the bus ride and some for a snack on the ride back," I placed them into his bag and noticed Tails didn't have water or a coat with him. I didn't let him leave until he filled his water bottle and took a coat with him.

"Sonic I'm gonna be late. I'll be fine," Tails whined as I put a hat on his head.

"Okay okay," I gave him a quick hug, kiss on his cheek, and a bit of cash for a souvenir before letting him go, "be safe and stay close to your classmates."

"Bye Sonic!" He ran off, tails happily wagging, "I love you!"

"Love you too. Remember to have fun!" I shut the door after he was out of sight. It's weird having him walk to school on his own. I've always taken him to school.

My phone had turned on its screen. I had gotten a message from Shadow.

"What the?" I rubbed my eyes and read the message again.

'Are you feeling better today? I'd like to pick up lunch before class.'

"Did he really... just ask me if I was okay?" I sat down to eat my breakfast. I did make extra for my own lunch later. I could pack that for Shadow...

"No, I already told him he wasn't going to get any more food from me! I don't have to give him a thing!" I angrily took a bite of my meal.

I got another message. This one was from Knuckles.

'We all want to come over and check on you but that many alphas would be too much. Can we just send Ray?'

'I think it would be okay. But I'm not cooking.'

'It's okay, I know you're recovering. ( T^T)'

Maybe just send a snack?

"Haha! Knuckles really only comes over for food," I laughed at the sad face he sent me.

I got another message from Shadow but tapped to move it away before replying to Knuckles.

Sure.

I'll be there in 15.

"15? But 1st period hasn't even- No..." I quickly checked the message I sent. I had agreed for Shadow to come pick up a lunch!

I rapidly sent another message but no response.
