"Hello," I did my best to snuff down any anxiety I had and reached out a hand as Miles approached, looking a little annoyed already, "My name is Infinite. It's nice to meet you, Miles."
Did I fuck this up already? I've hardly said hi and he doesn't like me...
"Hello Infinite," he took my hand and let go quickly after, "He didn't mention you were a year older. Sonic is kinda of an airhead so let me be clear. You hurt him or make him cry in any way whatsoever, I can do more than simply dox you. It's too bad Shadow was already doxxed and all his financial wealth was cut off before I even had the chance."
Chaos his baby brother is supervillain material and absolutely terrifying for a child.
"Tails, what did you do?" Sonic was suddenly behind Miles with a hand on his shoulder.
"I just said hi, he seems okay so far," Miles answered with an innocent look on his face, "We're going home in his car, right? Can I be shotgun?"
"You're not 12 yet Tails. Back seat for another year, okay?" Sonic ruffled his fur and he blew a raspberry before climbing into the backseat anyway.
"Sorry about that. He tends to be a little... protective? I guess that's the right word. Anyway, are you ready to go?" Sonic took my hand, I hadn't realized how hard I was clenching my sleeve while talking to possibly the scariest child on all of Mobius.
"Y-yeah," his baby brother just gave me a shovel talk... that was not what I was expecting.
It took about five minutes to get back to Sonic's place. It was bigger on the inside than it appeared. They had a low coffee table with a large couch and rug by the TV. There was a dining table that could fit 8 people, Maybe 10 if they set more chairs at the ends. the kitchen had a small bar separating it from the living room and leaving a path directly to the dining table. There was even a window from the kitchen to the entry hall by the front door. The vase that once held the flower I sent was empty and clean in that window. The whole place smelled like Sonic and Miles. Sonic's scent was clearly the overpowering one as the whole house smelt subtly sweet like he did. Like peaches, cream, and fresh grass. Sonic's smell was everywhere...
"Okay, so I'm going to teach you a few basic skills, and then you'll get to practice the recipes for our food stall. Then, you can take a break while I start some meal prep for next week," I put my apron on over my uniform and washed my hands before starting to set up the kitchen, "Do you want to get started right away or do you want to relax for a few minutes before?"
"Sonic, can I have a snack first?" Miles tugged on the side of Sonic's pain-white apron.
"Sure," he started walking towards the fridge.
"I have snacks," I blurted out, I hadn't even answered his last question. I quickly opened my bag and pulled out all of the snacks I had impulsively shoved into my bag last night, "I...I thought it would be a good idea to bring a variety since I don't know what you like."
"These are for me?" Miles came over cautiously before I moved to set the snacks down on the bar.
"Yeah... take whatever you like," I wasn't sure what to do with my hands anymore, "Um Sonic, we could start cooking now if that's okay."
"Sure!" His smile was so bright and adorable.
"MINTS!" Miles startled us both as he held up a box of chocolate mint candies I had thrown in last minute, "I have mints!"
"Oh, chaos he's going to eat that whole box..." Sonic sighed and then laughed and Miles ran off, his twin tails happily wagging as he tore open the box and shoved a small handful into his mouth.
