"I was trying to be romantic," he knocked the fox and another plush into the pit, "Here you go, one sock fox. It really does look like your brother."
"Thanks," I took the fox and pulled out the other prize he had won. It was a fuzzy black and grey wolf, "This one looks like you."
"A wolf? I'm a Jackal. But they were our ancestors," he held it up.
"You should keep that one," I smiled, "My coin got it for you."
"That I paid for," he laughed and we left the arcade to have lunch.
We wound up talking most of lunch. Infinite was such a nice guy. Our meeting might have been weird but, he was so genuine when he spoke with me.
"Sonic, there's one more place I'd like to take you today," Infinite led me out of the restaurant after we finished our meal, "Are you alright with that?"
"Yeah, I'm free all day today," I was excited, he said the rest of the date was a surprise.
"Then let's take our time today," Infinite held my hand as we walked together.
Infinite led me to a park where we sat together for a while. After maybe fifteen minutes of feeding ducks together, we walked over to a red car.
"Get in," it was Infinites, "There's one more place I wanna go. But we'll be there until nightfall. I promise to bring you straight home after. Don't want you alone in the dark."
"Only if you stop by my favorite chili dog stand on the way back," I took a breath and got into the front seat. I've only seen this in movies. I just hope it's not a horror movie. I flinched as he held my hand before starting the car.
"Are you afraid?" If this is making you uncomfortable-"
"No, it's fine. This is just my first ever date so I'm really nervous. And my friend who's a horror movie enthusiast has shown me too many of her favorites," I laughed. Why did I say that?
"Here," he took off his mask and I could finally see the rest of his face, "I think it would help if I wasn't wearing this."
"But, won't that be uncomfortable for you?" He was handsome... the white streak Along his right eye matched the white fur on his mussel. As he spoke I realized what he meant the other day. He really did have long fangs. Most predator-based mobians did. They were often taller too.
"I'll be fine, there aren't many people where we're going. How do you feel?" He was smiling so gently. I didn't feel as anxious anymore.
"I'm ready now."
He drove off, playing a DVD that had some songs I also liked. Soon, we arrived at the Green Hills Museum.
"This place is great for clearing my head. Two please," he paid for my ticket and we each got a wristband.
"I thought it'd be a stamp," I walked in as Infinite held the door open for me.
"There we too many complaints about them washing off," he answered, "This way," he took me to a large dome structure. It was made of glass and full of plants, "You'll want to take off your coat for this, it's pretty warm in there."
"Oh wow, it's like a heat wave," I took off my flannel immediately and tied it around my waist. I hope my quills don't come undone.
"This is the butterfly dome," he brought me through a plastic curtain.
It was like a miniature jungle in here. The staircases followed A spiral around the glass. There were butterflies everywhere. One even landed on my nose. Infinite took a few pictures while we were there. I didn't really mind that he'd take one of me once in a while. There were other small animals and bugs on display. Infinite didn't even glance at the spiders. I couldn't look at them too long either. When we reached the exit my quills were slowly starting to come undone.
"Awe man... I'm gonna clean myself up in the bathroom real quick," I left and the moment I started trying to adjust my quills they started falling apart, "I need to get a different gel. I've never worn my hair down in public..."
"It's cute..." Infinite came in, "You were taking a while."
"It's unusual for Hedgehogs tho. Even females have stiffer quills than me. It's assumed that it's because in a special omega, my quills are more relaxed than others," I didn't have a hair tie with me, I'd have to leave it down.
"I like that you're special," he took my hand again, "Let's catch the show, it starts soon."
"The show?" I followed him to another, larger dome, "Wow..."
It was like we were actually traveling through the stars we we took our seats inside the dome. I didn't understand most of it, but it was beautiful to watch. When the show was over we wondered the rest of the museum. I'd always thought museums were boring and for smart people. I felt less like that now, they were enjoyable even if I didn't understand a lot of it.
"I come here a lot," Infinite bought us pretzels from the cafeteria just before it closed. It came with a spicy cheese dip. We left the museum and Infinite took me to the end of the parking lot where there was a set of benches and a few sets of coin-operated binoculars.
"I've never seen the city from this view before," the sun had set long ago as we sat there watching the glistening lights of the active nightlife in the city. Behind the museum, was a beautiful display of the stars where the light hadn't polluted the sky, "Last time I saw a sky like this was when I was living on a farm."
"You've certainly been around. I've lived in this city my whole life. I know every inch of it, especially now that I have my own car. During the summer I like to travel to other cities and see the sights. Staying in the same place too long gets boring, but this place will still be home," Infinite put his arm around me as we finished our snack.
"Yeah... I moved here just before middle school started. This place has been more like home than anywhere else since I moved in with Tails," I found myself leaning against him, "This was fun. But next time at least let me know what clothes to wear. I felt out of place next to you and your fancier clothes."
"Next time... So you'll go out with me? We can be mates," his scent... he smelt like a freshly baked almond croissant. His body was so warm...
"Yeah, I'd like to go out with you," I turned away as I realized how close our faces were getting, "Sorry, I don't think we should."
"I understand. Omegas often go into heat if they kiss their mate. We can wait until you're ready," Infinite took me home after taking me by my favorite chili dog stand, just like he promised.
"Goodnight," he kissed my hand and handed me the fox he'd won me in the arcade, "I'll see you Monday in the nurse's office for lunch."
"Yeah, see you then. Thank you Infinite, this was a fun first date," I unlocked my door and he walked away.
I shut the door behind me and locked up for the night. I had forgotten my quills were down for the second half of our date.
"He said I was cute..." My face went red in the mirror as I was fiddling with my quills and recalling all the compliments he'd given me. He was so nice and romantic the whole time. I can smell his scent on my fur. He held my hand for most of the date.
I felt the suppressant wearing off as I reached my room. I stripped completely and held onto my shirt. His scent was strongest there. Where is it? There it is. I pulled out the bin and tossed the lid aside.
"Tails isn't here tonight so I can handle this naturally instead of just taking more suppressants," I pulled out the beaded vibrator which had become my favorite toy. Maybe Infinite is meant to be my mate. Which means eventually he and I will...
"Aaaha~♡!"
