second chance

THE ENGAGEMENT PART I

Two weeks had passed quickly. It was Matt and Riana is engagement. I had already received about thirty missed calls  from Dorcas and about a hundred messages telling me to arrive early.
'' Zack!'' I shouted his name.
'' yes,love,'' as he entered the room kissed my forehead. His so clingy.

I like it.

'' Would you like to go with me to my sister's wedding?'' I asked.
'' of course love...this would be a great time to make our relationship public, then no one would dare mess around you,'' he said rubbing his hands together as if he was some villain or maybe he was just feeling chilly. Either way it was creepy.
'' You know what...I change my mind.''

He held my hand and pulled me to sit in front of the mirror. He then started brushing.
'' any hairstyle in mind,''
'' let me think...you know what...surprise me.''
'' since you don't want to take me with you I guess there is no need to give you your present,'' he said going back to the topic about the engagement.

I was speechless, he was literally trying to bribe me.
'' So what do you say?'' He asked.
'' Don't you have work to do?'' I asked.
'' I'm the CEO I choose when to go for work,'' he said smiling.

Honestly, I felt he was mocking me and why was it that he never went to work when I didn't want him.
'' Why ate you like this?'' I asked.

Author's POV
While iris and Zack were having their little argument. Matt was thinking whether he could go through with the engagement.

Matt's POV
I woke up from a nightmare. I lost my business and became poor after I married Riana. I'm now having second doubts about this. While I was still thinking about it I heard a knock on my door.
'' come in,'' I answered.

My mother entered the room smiling.
'' my son will soon be getting married,'' she sang as she came to sit next to me.
I was staying at my parents for the time being. My mum had said that this would maybe even be their last time staying with me because she had a feeling i would be too busy to visit them.
'' mum its like you now want me to leave as soon as possible,'' I teased her.
'' no my son, I would never...I...I just want to have grandchildren as soon as possible.'' This seems to be every mother's wish after of course wanting to have children.
'' Matt,'' she became serious.
'' what's up mum,''
'' Do you really want this marriage?'' She asked. It seemed like no one approved of this marriage.
'' Why are you suddenly asking such a question?'' I asked.
'' To be honest, I don't think Riana is a perfect match for you. I still prefer Iris. She helped us when we needed I mean just look at how much your business has grown because of her,'' she said.

This really made me upset. I mean yes Iris did help me with my business, she's prettier than Riana, but why should everyone always think that Iris was better when clearly Riana was innocent, and pure, Iris on the other hand  always bullied Riana.
'' Mum, I love Riana. She can also help me with my business.''
'' If that's what you want then I will support you.''
After that my mum left the room.

Riana' s POV
Iris doesn't know who she has been messing with. Recently she had been ruining my life but from now on things are going to change. I will make sure I ruin her life. Today she's going to see me get engaged to the man she has always dreamed to be with.

Author's POV
The we have all been waiting for. Matt and Riana is engagement has finally began. The couple stand at the entrance to greet the visitors.
'' These two are a great match,'' one woman told the women standing with her.
'' They look compatible together,'' the second woman commented.

When Riana heard the conversation of the women she turned to them and smiled. The other women ignored her and continued gossiping with each other.
'' Don't you guys know?'' The third woman asked the others.
'' What don't we know?'' The first woman asked.
''This man was dating the sister to the woman who is standing next to him,''
'' Maybe she is just helping the him greet the visitors. The sister might be still getting ready,''
'' What I heard was that this woman seduced her sister's boyfriend. The sister herself caught them in the act of the affair,''
'' How do you know so much?'' The first woman asked curious.
'' I have my sources,'' she said.
The people continued gossiping not caring Riana and matt would hear them after all they were influential people. What was there to be afraid of.
