When I reached home it was already lunch time. I sat at the dining room alone. When I was done I felt a bit tired and started going to my room. While I was going upstairs I heard some noise coming from my parents room. So I went and stood at the door.
" What are we going to do about Iris. She has become even more troublesome and disrespectful?" Asked Sarah.
" You just have to get on her good side. So instead of complaining act like a good mother."
" That's not possible. She annoys me like that woman Emily."

' thud'

Chris slapped slapped Sarah at the sound of my mother's name ( Emily)
"Shut up! We can't let anyone find out that we caused Emily's accident," I couldn't believe what I had just heard Chris and his filthy mistress Sarah killed my mother. I wanted to run away from there at that moment
"What are you doing eavesdropping on your parents!" An uninvited Dorcas arrived and shouted. Sarah and Chris heard the voices that came from outside. They looked at me with fear in their faces when the saw me standing near their door.
" Um .... Iris what are you doing here?" Asked a nervous Chris.
" I can't believe you are my father."
" It's not what you think."
" So you didn't want to kill my mother. Want to steal all my shares from the company that my grandfather left my mum before he died.  Get everything that my mother had left me ..."

I was slapped by my grandmother.
" How dare you speak to your father like that. Do you have no shame. Your mother had an illness so whether your father killed her or not sooner or later she was still going to die." I really didn't expect anything  less from this woman. She had never liked my mum even when she helped with her entertainment industry but she still never showed any love to my mother.
" I see where my father's wickedness originated from."
" What did you say?" Just then, Riana who had just arrived threw a knife at me. Fortunately, I managed to dodge and the knife hit my parents door .
" Sister I'm sorry. I didn't mean to throw the knife it's just that when I heard you say all those bad things. I couldn't control my anger." Said a pleading Riana.
" Sorry to disappoint. I'm not dead." I smiled at her " haha ... My mother was to naive. How did she even manage to leave in this family." After I finished speaking I gave them a disdainful look and walked to my bedroom. I locked the door and then called a lawyer. He was my grandfather from my mother's side personal lawyer.
" Good afternoon miss Carter. How can I help you?"
" Good afternoon Mr Howard. Is it fine if we can meet."
" Of course"
I asked him if he could bring to me some important documents before I hung up. I sent him the address where we could meet.
" Iris open the door, Let's talk." Chris suggested from behind the door.
" Yes, honey there is no need to lock yourself behind the door". This couple really started to get on my nerves. I opened the door.
" No need to act. I will give you what you want and you should leave my life."I didn't wait for them to answer and Just went downstairs.

When I arrived at the cafe. Mr Howard was already there.
"Miss Carter, you've grown." I smiled at him and took my seat. He handed me the documents and explained to me everything that my mother and grandfather. Then left.

I threw the papers in front of the people who were having dinner.
" What's this?" Dorcas and Chris asked in unison. Chris picked up the documents. He read them and quickly signed.
" I have transferred all the shares and money to you now you don't have to trouble me or plan against me from now on ."
" Chris is it true?" Asked Dorcas.
" Yes,mother." I didn't want to listen to them. I really didn't want to leave in this toxic environment. After my encounter with Zack, I no longer wanted to take revenge. It wasn't worth. I went to my room started packing my clothes and called Tina.
"Hello," she answered.
" Can you come and pick me up from my house?"
"Sure,"
"Thankyou."
I took my things downstairs. The people in the dining room didn't even notice they were celebrating.

When I arrived at Tina's place. She asked me to tell her what had happened. I summarized everything that happened from the time Riana called me. I even told her about Zack Sullivan.
"Iris your life has to much drama. Your family hates you. Your boyfriend cheated on you. You even managed to get Zack Sullivan is attention. Your life is like a movie. Even Riana who just entered your grandmother's industry to be an actress can't much you!" Tina explained.
"Well I wish it was just a simple life. Oh and don't worry I'll quickly find myself an apartment so that I don't have to disturb you"
" Ok, take your time." Tina showed me my room where I would be sleeping for the meantime. After unpacking some of my. I quickly fell asleep. I woke up after an hour to the sound of my ringtone. When I looked at the screen it showed 'Mr boyfriend'. I wondered who it was before remembering that it was Zack .
" Hello," it took sometime for him to respond.
" Hello, how are you?"
" I'm fine. I just woke up."
" Oh, did I disturb you?" He sounded concerned. This warmed my heart a little. It had been a long time since anyone showed their concern for me.
"Yeah, but it's not a problem"
" What can I do to make it up to you." I wanted to refuse the offer, but I knew he wasn't going to let it go . So I thought for a while before answering him.
"You can take me on a date tomorrow." In my past life, I spent all my energy to love Matt who was even worse than a dog. At least a dog was loyal but Matt..... In the past few years of our relationship, he wouldn't even take me out in dates or buy me presents. I was like a servant and my Job was to help him and to take care of him. But that wasn't going to happen anymore. I was going to enjoy every single relationship. Even if it wasn't a true love relationship. Their was no harm in going on dates with Zack. He paid for everything. In reality I was just having life.
"I... Yes" Zack replied " where do you want to go?" He asked.
" Let's go shopping and then we can go the movies." These two places were common date location during the first year I was with Matt . However, Matt rarely bought me anything when we went shopping.
" Ok I'll hung up now....bye"
"Bye."
