Ilang minuto na ang nakalipas simula noong pumasok ang heneral sa study room ni Khallib ngunit hindi ito umiimik.

Imbes na magfocus sa pag-aaral ay hawak lamang nito ang cellphone at abalang naglalaro.

Noon ma nupos ang pasensya ng heneral kaya naman ay nagsalita na siya.

"Khallib, I know that you hate me for being the husband of the girl that you love and it's okay if you'd choose to turn your back from me but you have to be careful. Love makes you crazy and venomous tongue can bring you to own destruction."

"So, tinatakot mo na din ako ngayun."

"I'm just saying, stay out of the fire habang mas maaga pa. Just stay in your comfort zone. Don't go out and bite other people's back, especially those who are true to you."

"Huh, bite other people's back? Hindi ba't sa sarili mo dapat iyan sinasabi?"

The General clenched his jaws before he looked at him in the eyes, "I'm afraid you've forgotten who I am, but I'm true to my words and to my duties. You know that of all people." He asserted eloquently before he grabbed the book from the table and opened it.

"Here, continue reading it. " kaswal niya pang turan sabay abot nung libro.

"Wala akong ganang mag-aral ngayon."

Itiniklop na lamang niya yung libro matapos nito iyung hindi abutin.

"Before, when you were just a kid, I asked you what you dream is," Kapagkuwa'y saad niya kaya napatingin sa kanya si Khallib. "You said you want to be a great politician. You want to follow the steps of your father."

"--And you said that you'll support me. You said that you'll build and prepare me with the best of your abilities. And I believed and followed you, but--- seems like, I was deceived."

The General kept quite for a while before he talked again. "Only those people who know less can be deceived. Smart people can't. If you want to be smart, be knowledgeable. Now read these books!" Aniya pa at tumayo na upang lisanin ang study room ni Khallib.

Tahimik lamang n'un si Khallib na sinundan ng tingin ang General.

"Ms. Claire, okay ka lang?" Tanong ni Shu kay Claire na noo'y malamlam ang mga matang nakatunghay kay Elly na noo'y abalang naglalaro.

"M-Ma'am, nandito kana pala." Kaagad naman nitong tugon nang maulinigan siya.

Ngumiti lamang naman siya nun at lumapit na kay Elly upang hagkan ito, "baby, kumusta ka. Nandito na si Mommy!" Masigla niya pang saad.

"Mommy!" Tugon naman ni Elly na noo'y ngumiti sa kanya.

"How is my baby? Nagpakabait ka ba kay Ms. Claire?" Malambing pa niyang saad bago sumalampak sa harap nito upang makipaglaro kahit na naka-uniform pa siya.

"Yes Mommy. Elly is kind to Nanny." Sweet na sweet namang tugon ni Elly kaya bahagyang napangiti si Claire.

"Naku, ang bait bait naman ng baby ko kung ganun. Very good Elly, at dahil dyan yayakapin ka ni Mommy ng mahigpit!" Magiliw niya pang saad kasunod ng pagyakap niya dito ng mahigpit na mahigpit.

Napa-iwas naman n'un ng tingin si Claire at saglit na tumingala upang payapain ang mga matang nais lumuha.

   "So, kumusta naman siya ngayung araw, Ms. Claire. Pasensya na, hindi ako nakauwi kaninang tanghali. May ginawa kasi ako."

"Ay Naku, walang problema d'un Ma'am. Ako ang Nanny niya, dapat lang naman na buong araw ko siyang asikasuhin. Dapat nga 24 hours a day, pero 8 hours lang ako." Nakangiti namang agad na tugon ni Claire.
